Went to a few places today to look for towel/clothes hooks, racks etc. htb doesn't like conventional towel racks because he says he is lazy to hang the towel onto it. :0

Went to Godown today which had cool stuff and slightly scary prices. Will be going back.

Checked out my place today since I can finally get in without any workers around and poke around to my heart's content.

Common bathroom partially tiled up

There is a big fat beam sticking across my ceiling so my ID says he will box it up.

Dunno if I should ask him to just cement screed it and don't box up because I really love the high ceilings. But my ID said it would look weird and kinda unfinished to have the funky tiles below and then suddenly a beam and ceiling above the tiled area. Can't decide...

We are having some problems with aircon installation. It's causing htb a lot of stress. He feels that the aircon people are trying to "yum him" in his own words. We paid for an upgrade in insulation materials, pipes, etc. Luckily my contractor hasn't concealed it yet because when we went to look at it a few days ago most of the pipes were definitely not as thick as they should be. Htb called the aircon office staff and the staff said "it's like that one, some will be thinner materials" , but htb said he has pictures and most are nowhere as thick as it should be. The office staff then called their technicians and called us back to say the technicians will come back to our place to redo.

Htb felt that they already knew they did something wrong, if not won't so fast agree to redo. Sigh. He is now very very unhappy because he feels that they are untrustworthy. Hopefully it all turns out alright. Will update once it's done

Thank you! I am looking forward to seeing at least this one room completed soon. But there are defects with some of the tiles which we spotted today. Chips and poorly aligned and badly cut tiles. Sigh. Have told my ID and he says he will have the defects fixed and redone and if not enough tiles he will order more (no mention of who is paying for more tiles, hahaha) but I saw quite a few left over tiles so should be enough.

I was kinda worried because I felt my ID or his site manager should have spotted these issues before me, but my ID told me the site manager has been ill this week so now I feel bad. I should have left it and let them settle it, now like I don't trust them.

The master bathroom lava stone tiles are giving me a headache. I looked at a few of them today. I had to flip through 5 or 6 in the stack before I found an unblemished one. Worrying. But my ID hasn't said anything so I'm going to cross my fingers and hope for the best.

the htb is ill and on mc.. but went down to monitor the aircon guys who're supposed to come over n redo the insulation because they didn't give us the upgraded materials the last time. zzzz.. they are 1 hour late and counting. I'm not sure if I would recomend them. But not going to name and shame yet.. wait till they are finished first.

Went for some retail therapy over the weekend.. to one of my new fav places CB2.

Think we may go for this bed.

Its not super special.. but then, I guess not everything should be stand out. Htb likes it, so I think this should be it. There was another bed at CB2 that I liked. Didn't get a picture of it. Its wooden framed, with drawers at the side to provide extra storage. And the drawer sides are chalkboards!! Awesome or what?!

We need a floor lamp for the living room.

and when my reno finally completed (like just last satuday, even though i moved in 2 weeks ago!), i felt so relieved.

Haha.. yeah. I'm glad my htb is very hands on, because without him, I think i wouldn't have any time to blog on renotalk. He really go around Singapore looking for things. I never realised that there were so many things to look for and decide on for when you renovate a place. I thought the hardest part was finding a place we like and buying it. Now I realise... that was only the beginning.

To lessen the stress, I think for non essential furniture, I'll just take my time to find. Like my ID say, if can't find the perfect sofa, then sit on the floor first.

OOooh.. am trying to convince my htb and ID that we dont need a hood. But they've overruled me. I think we're gonna get a Turbo hood.. black.. to match our induction cooker fr Taiyo.
