Post continues by Mrs Merry:

Laminates

We seem having a hardtime getting the ideal laminates; or rather to Mr Merry's liking. Anyway, he chose this white laminate for our wardrobes. Andy gave me a stack of laminates to chose again. I was stunned. It's for INTERNAL LAMINATES of all carpentry works. I never knew we can chose internal laminates. When I told Mr Merry over the phone - he was equally stunned - "You mean we can choose that? I thought it's standard white?" :notti:

I'm leaning towards option 1 and 2. Andy's choose option 2. Mr Merry undecided.

Below is a pic of wardrobe outside laminate against our flooring.

Toilet table top - Marble Volakas!

So in love with this stone! So tempted to have it for the kitchen - Andy is so against it - POROUS - easily stained if not maintain properly. Anyway, I decided it for our toilet table top. :notti:

Hi!

It's the mrs here!

Can I just say that you're exactly like my hubby?! (Difference is I'm the one cleaning...)

Think you 2 can be BFFs and maybe set up a task force to look for ant nests around our houses!

Case in point -

My hubby asked mr k re the wooden door frame today. His concern was that it will attract ants. Of course mr k gave him a weird/ incredulous look (i was chuckling in a corner...)

Anyway take care and recover soon!

I burst out laughing reading that statement of task force to look for ant nests around our houses!! :yeah: Good one! - mrs merry.

Mr Merry here. Im so glad Mrs Merry has such similar taste to me and that i can trust her to make decisions if need be on her own. =) Such sweetness and smooth flow for both wedding n renovation preparations all thanks to her. Its really such a great feeling to have a partner in crime to work on projects like these in our life! Anyway i think most likely we will be going for option 2 for the internal laminates. Cant wait for more progress and actual renovations to start! @macuser77 Thanks! -_- i think ur hubby and me can be dream team. Ants killer.. idea..

What brand are your laminates? I had EDL & Admira to choose from. Per my contractor, these 2 are the brands with the best quality. She even let me choose the ABS trimmings design/colour too. But she didn't ask me about internal laminates.. I shall ask her..

Mr Merry, Andy showed us the other day. It's the trimming of the edges when laminates meet. Rem?

Updates from Mrs Merry:

Dilemma on the material for countertop and back splash. We really love the white marble colour. I'm having doubts on our quartz selection. As our counter top and back splash will be the same quartz. How?? What do all of you think?

Marble against our kitchen laminates.

Andy said our table will be like the picture next to it. Seriously - the material colour just doesn't look like the image. Maybe the image is photoshopped??

Updates from Mrs Merry:

I decided to change the toilet doors from white louvre doors to sandblasted glass door. After much consideration, the high maintenance of louvre door - plus need to be extra careful when washing the toilet ( cannot have water seeping through our laminated flooring). I chose clear glass with sandblast film.

We should be choosing metal coin turn lock vs the others. As for frames, Andy suggested using option 02 instead 06. Pending Mr Merry to make his decision.

Oh! And I missed out of the internal laminates from the earlier post. Here it goes. Beige without grain lines.

Wah, it's so good to be able to choose internal laminates!! I'm only given the choice of coloured PVC or top up 15% for wood lookalike PVC. :( Will you be able to share if your carpentry quote was expensive pfr?

Personally, I would not get marble for kitchen top. It'll stain very easily... Try looking for another brand of quartz maybe? You may be able to find lighter coloured quartz :good:
