Is This A Fair Quote For Floor Works?

Area is about 190 sqft.

Hacking of tiles ($500) + retiling ($1800) = $2300

If the hacking needs to go deeper (hacking of concrete layer), the total will go to $2700.

Tiles are a separate cost.

Is the quote fair?

Quite reasonable, i should say.. but i just dont understand why they 'need to hack deeper' . I mean, how thick can ur existing tiles be.?

The replacement tiles are quite thick, so the tiler may have to hack all the way to the base. I'm not very sure about the technical issues involved, but he comes recommended by the tile shop, so I assume he knows what he is doing.

huh? what type of replacement tiles are u looking at? i thought tiles are more or less the same thickness? even if it is thicker, the most thicker by 1cm.

try to ask more.
