We decided to get KDK for our ceiling fan

KDK (Malaysia) site

Living Room (56" Sensa 4) MYR$470

Master Bedroom (44" Baby Fan) MYR$315

Since KDK is much cheaper in Johor Bahru, we took a bus down to get it from

YES Electrical Supply

Tmn Pelangi,

80500. J.B

Tel: 07 - 3339 900

Got a further discount since they are distributors.

This is how we got there

1) Took 170 from Kranji MRT to JB Sentral

2) Took S1 from JB Sentral to Plaza Pelangi (cost RM1.30 per pax)

3) Walk to Jalan Serampang

Thanks for sharing. Very useful info indeed. I was contemplating riding my bike in to buy a sense 4 or 5 but not too sure of size of the box...now I've an alternative of taking the bus in. Cheers. Btw, do u've the dimensions of the box.......LxHxW......I'm esp concern about the width...

Dun have the boxes anymore but think sensa 4 comes in a 70 x 50 box (est) and baby comes as 55 x 30 (est).

We called in advance to check for stock in case of disappointment.

As expected, we were told by mgmt that anything that may alter the external appearance of the property is a no no.

Because wife do not want to dry our clothes on the balcony, we gave up and decided to go ahead and get a dryer. Yup, in sunny Singapore.

Our consideration

- Energy consumption

- Quietness of operation

- Auto sensor feature

- Vented dryer with a tube at the back is a no no.

- we heard that Korea brand have a bad rep for dryer

- Can it be mounted or stacked?

- Capacity

- Price

In the end, we got a Bosch Condenser Dryer WTS86516SG. Took just a few days to decide since we are only considering Bosch and Electrolux, and there was not alot of choices.

Did I already mention I live in sunny Singapore.

Was quite happy with the wood from Ban Heng.

ordered four 96.5 x 34 x 0.9 cm for $7.50 per piece. both side laminated white

Decide how thick you want your plank. I din and the carpenter was slightly pissed that I wasted his time trying to decide (which is true).

Since I'm only doing 4 pieces, I could have picked it up within the hour. But was rushing back to work, so collected only the next day.

Don't forget to pick up trimmings and pegs to hold up the board in the cabinet

Another tip maybe to order a slightly narrower board in case it doesn't fit. Now I'm slightly concern that the boards are too well fitted that it may jam the door.

Going to put it together this weekend...or maybe eventually.

If you need full length mirror for your wardrobe (like we do), can consider this

http://www.framesandglass.com/mirrors.html

Ordered three 38 x 160 x 0.3 cm mirrors for $98 per piece (our door was 40cm wide btw)

Include delivery and installation

Their shop is near Boon Keng Mrt and my workplace. So was very convenient for me to drop by and pay deposit

They also answer sms queries quite promptly

We may even get tempered glass from them (for our coffee table top).

90 x 60cm for $72, but need additional $40 for delivery. So guess we will cash and carry instead.

we actually brought a handheld trolley with us.

they were not heavy. just cumbersome to carry.

We walked to Plaza Pelangi and caught a cab from there to JB Sentral. Remember to ask if he is running on meter. Should cost around RM$10.

Took 170 after Malaysia custom and took a cab from Kranji.

Most challenging part of the journey was the bus ride, due to the bulky purchase.

Thanks for the information. You're right tat bringing the stuff onto the bus would be a hassle. I would hve thought u would hve taken the S1 bus back to JB Sentral....but then again, it cost only RM$10....so it's cheap. Again, thanks for sharing.....most helpful indeed. So, how is the fan working out for u? It is as good as u expected?
