Newt 0 Report post Posted March 21, 2013 Hi all,I'm trying to get advise on renovating my house, choosing an ID etc. Due to constant traveling, I have not really sat down with many ID to compare quotes etc.So far I've met with only the below 21. Flair interiors 2. BaroqueSince both quoted about the same approx 35k to do the below, do I continue to source for some more ID or can I settle on 1 of the above?1. I wish to redo the 2 toilets and and kitchen entirely2. Platform for 2 single beds for young children under 12 in the bed room 2.3. Wadropes for 2 bedrooms.4. TV console for living room5. 2 desk with storage etc for the children in another bedroom 3Will post floor plan when I figure out how.
jaykr 0 Report post Posted March 21, 2013 My humble opinion is, it depends if you are comfortable with the ID from the firm. Each Firm has many ID's so you want to make sure you get a good ID. Also, have you researched on these two ID's and found other people using them? What is their feedback like about these ID's? Why don't you find a few people in Renotalk who have used these ID's and msg them and ask and see how they are. You will be spending a big sum of money and you want to make sure they understand what you want and you are comfortable working with them. Once you sign the contract , you are stuck with them, so make sure you understand what you want and then go talk to them. Hope this helps. do I continue to source for some more ID or can I settle on 1 of the above?
Newt 0 Report post Posted March 21, 2013 Thx jaykr, so far have not come across any posts on them. I've actually found them using renotalk's request for quote. However will keep looking around until next week to make a decision.
jaykr 0 Report post Posted March 21, 2013 You got ask yourself ? 1) Are you concerned about cost? If so, meet the many ID's and see what is the range among the different ID's and why there is a difference? 2) What is the quality of materials you will be getting for your flooring, carpentary, counter - top etc.. etc... Are you hacking and rebuilding or just overlaying? What types of switches etc..etc... 3) Are they going to do the project management for you or you got it do it yourself? My experience and talking to a lot of people , even if you use a ID, you need to be there to look for things that you don't like. 4) Do you need a ID or can you use a contractor if cost is an issue? There are many articles written on what to look for in an ID etc... they would greatly help you. Hope this helps...take care.Thx jaykr, so far have not come across any posts on them.
