Panasonic / Fujitsu Air Con

Recommended Posts

I was quoted by air contractor (for condo):

To supply labor and material + Stainless steel bracket and install (non conceal) Panasonic System2 Inverter CU-3S27KKZ / CS-S9PKZW / CS-S18PKZW

for $3200

The CS-S9PKZW looks like the standard model. (doesn't have fancy filter, etc)

Looks pretty expensive to me.

What do you think?

I suggest equivalent Fujitsu (same BTU rating for Outdoor and FCU) at $2889

But was told Fujistu air con is not good.

Anybody has experience? Thanks!

used to own a Fujitsu Inverter couldn't remember the model already as i wanted to forget this horrendous experience with Winfinity.

Bought system 4 for about $3.2k.. and the outdoor unit went dead after 2yrs as my house always tripped after a thunderstorm. called their technician, came down and diagnose that the motherboard is faulty and some other components, total $900+ for repair. warranty for the board will be 3mths. Wouldn't want to spend unnecessary money and called my other friend who do freelance installation of aircon and servicing.

He quoted me $1600 for a Daikin non-inverter system 4... and it has lasted me for 3yrs without any problems.

Thanks mclairs, for your sharing. We hope not to spend too much for this system 2.

I already have system2 x 1 and system1 x 2 all panasonic in good condition. Not even sure if I need inverter since this system2 is for sharing with 1 bedroom (use 2hrs/nite) and living room (use a few hours/mth). Maybe a non-invertor can already?

nowadays pretty hard to get a non-inverter, plus the refrigerant tat most non-inverter aircon uses is R22 which gonna stop selling in 2016. unless u got lobang, of coz having a non-inverter would be a better choice.

My ID also included the AC in his quote. Is this normal? Granted, it wasn't expensive (less than 4k for a system 3 - but brand was not given), I am just wondering why they would go to that trouble. kickbacks?
