Gamxia gamxiaWe are we deciding whether to use black galaxy granite for the living room vs white homogenous tiles (80 x 80) .Appreciate your comments and sharing. It will be perfectif you know of any one in the forum who has done such flooring before and is willing to share some of their pictures with us Our concerns:1) galaxy black granite might make the whole room look very dark and small ?2) very difficult to get furniture to match3) galaxy black granite is very expensive and we dont want to end up using the granite and spending so much $ and yet the whole house still dont look niceGam Xia Gam Xia for all comments
kooky 2 Report post Posted March 10, 2013 Hi ping1, I am renovating my flat now and just speaking from experience, we chose tiles based on these:-1) lifestyle & preferencesDo you have young kids or intend to have kids in the near future? Do you have a helper/maid to do housework? Do you have elderly living with you?Do you have any preferred colours scheme? 2) BudgetCost you have side aside for your renovation. As you have pointed out granite is expensive and if you have other stuff to buy during the reno, would you be straddled with the budget you have set aside?Yes, black granite is indeed not easy to match furniture. Which is why most ppl only use this material on a small area (e.g.kitchen, vanity top); not on a large scale.Hope you have a smooth renovation!
