myrick88 0 Report post Posted March 4, 2013 Wow....very cute and pretty girl.Is there any 3D for your Reno?
kooky 2 Report post Posted March 4, 2013 Thank you, myrick88 At first we were given a set of hardcopy print out of the 3D drawings but after we have made some changes and asked the ID to update the drawings and email to us, she hasn't been doing so. We didn't press on since we already know what we want. Will check with my contractor again when we meet him this afternoon; perhaps he can help to follow-up for us on this matter. kooky 2 Report post Posted March 4, 2013 Me too! We have yet to complete our long shopping list. I can only do this over the weekends as I work full-time.We went down to the flat for Open Net termination point installation but my contractor rang up my spouse to inform him that he is sick. So we have to arrange another day to tie-up all the loose ends.I start to wonder if he can complete the reno by mid-March! I am still keeping my fingers crossed!Congrats! kooky 2 Report post Posted March 6, 2013 Spikedoll, thank you for your compliment. My girl is very chatty, active and it is physically challenging for us :-)I went back on Monday for Open Net installation of the termination point but there aren't much things done yet. The stairs (only 1 flight) is not done up so I didn't take any pics. Will likely see more progress next week when the staircase is reconstructed and floor tiles should be almost ready. Then, I will try to take more pics. I will try to upload an image of the set of sofa set we have had ordered shortly. Thanks for the patience!

kooky 2 Report post Posted March 6, 2013 Thanks, breezy! It cost a few thousands dollar; not the cheapest but we love the design/look. We were told it is real cowhides. We seated on it and my husband refuses to lift up his butt............LOLWe saw it in a shop in Marina Square; can't remember the name of the shop. Will have to find the card which is given by the friendly salesperson. Will get back to you this evening?

kooky 2 Report post Posted March 8, 2013 (edited) We have initially chose wood for the tread (the part where we step on) and changing the wood handrail to tempered glass. As we are walking out of the flat, the contractor suggested to us that we can change and use tiles for the treads too. I quite like the idea but on safety aspect, I am skeptical and worry that it may chip-off easily and harder to maintain(e.g. ceramic or homogenous tiles), slippery and also aesthetically it is not so nice?Does anyone has any experience with tiled stairs? And why would you recommend or not recommend it? Edited March 8, 2013 by kooky

And why would you recommend or not recommend it?Initially we also opted for tiles for our staircases but after reading some advices from fellow forumers, we decided to go for wood which is more warm, woody feel than cold hard tile feel. There's a thread " maisonette owners" which you can find out more from EM owners My ID also told us wood look nicer and the cost difference actually not that alot. No ugly gout line. Softer feel esp you have a young kid. http://www.renotalk.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=4853&st=4600 Edited March 8, 2013 by spikedoll
