Woah can seriously consider the ikea ones though they are not as industrial looking as summer's. but for $30 a piece, I think worth an experiment. This shall be the start of our weekend 'Project Accordion Lamps' whereby we will customize them to suit our place ;)

Haha, mine is more vintage looking than industrial. If you're into industrial, you should call Make Room up and ask if they still have theirs!

Perhaps can try spray paint that ikea accordion lamps. Hehe.

I think i saw someone here bought black taps locally.. It's quite nice, I think matte black and without the gold rims as what you posted. You planning to ship the taps in from tb?

IKEA sells matt black taps! I got my white one from them, and I quite like it. It's very simple looking though, no rims or fancy design. Take a look!

The website doesn't list it (I tried looking for it there too :P)! But it's definitely in store because I see it every time I went so far. It's in the kitchen section, placed with the kitchen sinks. Comes in matt black, white, matt silver, shiny silver. They even have different handles!

Wa you very power! Can tumpang? lol

Any idea if this lamp's power is to be attached to normal power socket, or must have the elect wiring run in the wall and attach to it? Pai seh, not sure how to describe. hope you get what i mean.

didn't notice any shower heads or rain showers in ikea! Only kitchen mixers.

my accordion lamp comes with a normal power socket, so you can simply plug it in. i suspect most of these lamps do. the only thing is, these lamps look good mounted on a wall, but if you imagine a power cord running down from it, it doesn't look as nicely finished. What my ID did for mine was to drill a hole for the lamp's power socket to go through, so that the lamp's power cord is hidden out of sight (the cord is either hidden inside the partition wall, or inside the storeroom behind the wall where the lamp is mounted. not sure about its exact location :P). I hope this is making sense :D

I get what you mean! The ikea's version pix shows a power cord, that's why I suspect it's like that. After drilling a hole for the power socket to go thru, have to mend or plaster the hole nicely?

Think the hole shouldn't show because accordion lamps have a long base for the accordion anyway (and the hole needed for the power socket shouldn't be that big either). Mine doesn't show :)

Hey sorry, just a clarify, does the power socket goes in on top (where the accordion base is), then comes out near your wall plug? If not how to attach to electricity?

Wah this is cheem-o-logy! Later I will get my Mr E to study what Summer's contractor did. It does look a tad ugly with the wire hanging loose.

@Bleucheeze My KL colleague is not in KL now; she went for a staycation so she said she will try to get. But my problem now is when she can bring them over. i may receive the lamps only in May unless I trouble my big boss to hand carry over when he comes here for meetings LOL (hope he doesn't kill me)
