bleucheeze 1 Report post Posted February 9, 2013 I haven't receive them, parcel just shipped out. These are the stuff I bought:PH5 replica - http://item.taobao.com/item.htm?spm=a1z0k.1000775.1.199.4OXJY9&id=8057258411Cage lights - http://detail.tmall.com/item.htm?spm=a230r.1.10.182.KUN6xW&id=17303239327&_u=dmenna615e9Aluminum spice rack - http://detail.tmall.com/item.htm?spm=a220o.1000855.3-17750537796.3.FRSJT2&id=20890704009&Finally received the items. I will not recommend the spice rack unless you are prepared to do some DIY. Firstly, the towel holder length doesn't match the two holes where I have to attach the holder to the main body. Secondly, some of the screw hole cut-out do not have a nice finish, that is, some jagged part behind, making it such that I can't pass the hook through. Sorry, abit hard to explain... Anyway, my dad managed to solve this for me by cutting/prying away the jagged part protruding out, luckily this is aluminum, not steel.

bleucheeze 1 Report post Posted February 11, 2013 wow.. u received them just before CNY. =)The cage light looks fantastic. You shipped your items via taobao agent?Yes, I used daigou service. I won't recommend them if u wanna get several bulky items, cos volumentric weight can end up quite expensive! It might be better off if u choose freight forwarder. You can search around the forum, some ppl did that. HTH.
Makanology 29 Report post Posted February 11, 2013 Hi has anyone used May from Amcon's service before? She said Amcon's charges RM50 per link if she orders on our behalf (might as well since we don't own any China-issued credit card). But is it per web-shop link or per item link? dragonnite 2 Report post Posted February 11, 2013 it's per link, I think I put the details on kim76's tblog...I believe u can pay by visa nowadays...
bleucheeze 1 Report post Posted February 11, 2013 Anyone tried ordering yourself then ship to Amcon's address? Is it troublesome like after ordering, if seller/courier has any queries pertaining to the local address etc, we may not be able to answer?

bleucheeze 1 Report post Posted February 11, 2013 (edited) I read on kim76's Tblog that there is Peeka and Hoyoyo. I am trying to find out the differences in cost among these 2 and Amcon. Very cheem...If you are not buying bulky items, try 65daigou also, it's similar to Peeka and Hoyoyo. I have been using it and so far so good. If you wanna buy bulky items via Hoyogo or Peeka, I think Amcon still cheaper according to per cubic metre charge. I was using 1 cubic metre as a comparison and Amcon still makes more sense. You seem to be looking out for furniture on TB too? If yes, same here So many things are made in China now that it makes sense to just go straight to the source ya? Am trying to make our first TB purchase by end of this month to familiarize ourselves. We are so used to buying from US/UK/EUR and it is really a struggle to switch to Mandarin sites!
bleucheeze 1 Report post Posted February 11, 2013 I used 65daigou to buy 4 ceiling lights recently and shipping was a bomb, really paid a lesson! That's why for my upcoming order, I might be using Amcon. Intend to buy side tables, chairs and possibly a rug
Batman 0 Report post Posted February 11, 2013 I am a satisfied Amcon customer. Communication was a breeze and charges were clear and transparent. The RMB 50 is per link (i.e per product). For eg, if u are buying the same product, but in different color, as long as u r still within the same link to the product, then it is RMB 50. But if it is different product or model from the same merchant, then it is another RMB 50. Hope this helps.

RMB50 equates to around S$10ish so for smaller / cheaper items, it now doesn't make sense to buy from TB have to relook at our shopping list!

Is it use CC to charge the "alipay" account?Haha not yet! Still trying to compile my shopping list to do in 1 shot. But I saw on TB under FAQ, there is a picture showing the payment screen whereby there is a VISA icon right at the end of all the Chinese bank logos etc. choose that option for international CC (if my understanding of the Chinese FAQ is correct!)
