Taobao Help Needed

Hi,

I'm no handy man. Can I find out if all taps (kitchen/bathrooms) have "standard" inlets? I'm intending to buy from taobao but I'm worried that i can't use it at my home.

Also, can I use the hot-cold taps if I only have cold water? Not intending to get storage heater.

Appreciate any advise.

This seller seems not bad. The reviews on the Toto tap look good too.

Initially we were looking to buy our basins & WCs from TB as we want bright colors. However we just killed that when we discover that the prices at Poh Seng & GR seem quite comparable to TB and we need not worry about installation woes as these shops are just a English/Chinese/Hokkien phone call away. But the local colors available are more pastel than our original choice

Maybe you wanna consider buying them locally too? Though I am not sure of the Toto price difference which I think it will cost more here?

I am ordering 2 wash basin and accessories but it can't fill 1 cubic meter.

Shipping cost - 110 $ per 1 cubic meter

Transaction fee - 35 $

Each item buying - 10 $

I'm interested to try taobao too and have contacted May from Amcon Express for her rates etc.

That part I am more or less clear.

The problem now is I do not know how to place the order.

May said her clients have a 支付宝 account that allows them to buy directly from taobao. Only thing is you need a china account to transfer money into the 支付宝 account. May said some of her clients get her to do that - they will transfer money to her and she will put into their 支付宝 accounts for them. This sounds a little unsafe for me, I will probably wanna avoid this until I have tried and tested her services

She also mentioned she can help to buy the things but she charges a certain fee PER LINK. If I'm not wrong, it's 30-50RMB per link.

It seems quite high for me especially if I intend to buy many small items together with big items.

So I would like to ask if anyone has bought directly from taobao before using credit card? If yes, are there any extra charges?

From what I know, there's a DBS/POSB promo with taobao but I don't really know how it works.

I opened a taobao account and when I tried to check out I reached this page, and this is what I see when I select the "信用卡" (credit card) tab.

Then when I click on “选择其他” (select others), this is what I saw.

There's no Singapore bank that I can select.

Did I do anything wrong in the process? Appreciate all advices and help given! :bow:

Hi, I will share with you my process though I'm not sure if it's the best one.

1) Getting in touch with May

I got in touch with May asking about the costs etc. You may have already found that out in RT, but this step will allow you to touch base with May and let her get to know you as well. So that she knows whose goods those are when your stuff arrive at her warehouse.

2) Checking out

Based on the address May gave me, I input that as the delivery address at the checkout page.

Here is the details for you to copy and paste:

广州市三元里北站沙涌南69号义庆商储仓135仓。

电话：137 1160 1896

联系人：刘先生，137 1160 1896 转 "<input your name here>"

And as advised by May, I will input [请把唛头写在箱的外面. 联系人：刘先生，137 1160 1896 转 "<your name>"] under the remarks for every item I order.

Like this.

3) Payment

I pay by credit card. Select Visa or Master.

The next page would be to key in your credit card details and finalizing the payment.

4) Notifying May

After placing the order, go to Taobao homepage and select 我的淘宝-->已买到的宝贝

This will show u the items you have bought.

If the seller has dispatched the item, it will show as shown in the picture. If not, it will say something like 买家已付款.. Can't remember the exact phrase.

Once they have dispatched, click on 卖家已发货 to see the details.

You will come to this page.

So what I do is consolidate all the 物流公司 and 运单号码 for the various products I ordered and email to May, so that she knows what to expect. Anyway this was what she wanted from me so I guess it's her way of tracking.

AND THAT'S IT! Last thing to do is inform May to send your stuff over when you are done shopping!

Hi, can I ask, if the seller states he ships to 物流公司, does that mean he does not ship to May's warehouse or address indicated by me? How does our goods reach May in such case?

I've shortlisted some Kohler sinks, taps and rain showers

Only thing I don't dare to order is toilet bowl cos seems like the specs are different from sg, probably won't be able to install here I guess.
