Confirmed and chopped what deviansyh said is correct. I just bought some lightings using 65daigou. Total chargeable weight is about 21kg and it will cost me about $200 to ship via express air. Never expect it to be so ex.

Some glass light but I think volumetric weight is wrong. Anyway, lets wait for the shipment to arrive in Singapore before I collect in person and check the dimensions of the packaging again. No point speculating now. Shipping out from China tmr, reach Spore on Thur or Friday as DHL express usually takes 1 day to reach Sing.

Input my 2 cents worth here.

Never fly your items by air if you are not sure how big they are.

Go by sea is safer. At least the bomb won't be as big.

For example, let's take this ceiling light.

We take the smallest one. X5013-5S. Dimension is 560x560x180, weight is 7.72kg.

Shipping company will not take the item weight as this item is big. They will use the volumetric weight.

How to calculate? Volumetric weight is calculated as follows: length (cm) × width (cm) × high (cm) ÷ 6000 = Weight (KG)

So we have to assume the packed dimension here.

(70x70x23)/6000= 18.8kg. This is the Volumetric weight.

In accordance to international shipping standard, due to parcel packaging weight and spaces between items, whole parcel’s chargeable weight is around 1.1 times the sum of each item’s actual weight or volumetric weight, whichever is larger.

So chargeable weight will become 18.8 x 1.1 = 20.7kg!

For 65diagou shipping,

By expressair (DHL)= $8+($4x41)=$172

By economy air = $7+($3x41)=$130

By sea = $5.7+($1.7x41)= $75.40

SO it is safer to go by sea. Unless u need your stuff urgently....

U can also ask the seller for exact dimension of the package then at least u wont get another shock if they decided to give your item extra protection.

Yup... the width of my lights is 25cm so I think the box will be about 35cm * 35cm * 35cm. Though the actual weight of the light is about 1kg, the volumetric weight will be at least 7kg. No choice but have to choose express air as I need them to reach Spore on Friday.

Sign up with 65daigou.

Then

1) Find product, copy & paste the product URL then click “EZ-BUY” button, put special remarks if you need to, submit.

2) Review all your orders in the shopping cart, check out.

3) Go to “My Prepay” or “My Payment” to top up (fill up transaction details after transferring to us).

4) Complete your 1st payment (product cost + domestic shipping fee).

5) We will start to process your orders, order status will be updated timely and you are able to monitor order progress.

6) Ship orders to Singapore after they reach our China warehouse.

7) Select delivery method (home delivery /self-collection / MRT pickup / Neighborhood collection) when your parcel arrives in Singapore, and make your 2nd payment (international shipping fee + agent fee).

Not yet, estimated arrival time is next Sat. Please do not use daigou if you intend to buy bulky items. I totally regretted it cos using Amcon will be cheaper
