wowach 0 Report post Posted January 19, 2013 Thanks for the offer. My super efficient contractor managed to get the samples for me. He said its a very new product and he has never seen before. How's the finishing like? Seems like the bottom of the top is black? Can it be changed to white?

wowach 0 Report post Posted January 19, 2013 (edited) Apparently the cost is the same as the normal Samsung countertop. Unlikely to be real wood because of its natural permeability. Reckon it's some chemically strengthened material with wood life appearance. The risk is that's a new product in the market and not many knows its durability. Need to be careful with water and heat.Shoots I think I posted in the wrong section.. Edited January 19, 2013 by wowach

Seems like a rather vunerable material."Liquid spills including friuts, vegetables, food colourings and curries, should be wiped up and cleaned with a mild detergent and water immediately after detection""Protective trivets and heat pads should always be used underneath cookware such as skillets, saucepans, pots or dishes when removing hot items directly from any heat source (oven cooktop or microwave) and placing onto the KOMPACPANEL. Prolonged or sudden extreme tempeature changes can permanently damage the material"

Immediate cleanup of coloured spills and no prolong heat. So I guess it's pretty much the same. That said, being a new product the risk is still there. 1000miles 0 Report post Posted January 23, 2013 The cost is same as the Solid top surface. On care and maintenance section, I have soaked the sample in the water for >24hr and still feel the same after taking it out. If you have the sample, can try it with saking of water, oil, stratch it. On stratches is that it won't be so obvious compare to solid top. I believe everyone use heat pad or protective trivets to put hot cookware irregardless what type of top surface for your kitchen top.In the end is, are you comfortable to use the product, do you like the wood type of apperance and its thin thickness?
