dolphin88 0 Report post Posted January 10, 2013 Hi, realized my kitchen tap is leaking at the on/off lever area after I installed. Any idea what might be wrong and how much it will cost to repair? I need recommendation for a good (and cheap) plumber. Anyone have contacts? Thanks. Have attached a pic and a video of the leak... P.S. The water continue leaking even after I turned off the water supply.https://dl.dropbox.com/u/15202219/leak%202.MOV
josephsbs 1 Report post Posted January 10, 2013 very likely leak is due to "defective" cartridge inside... manufacturing fault, improper installation, etc.2 possible ways to fix:(a) change the cartridge(b) change the whole faucetthe faucet looks quite new... bought recently? any warranty?if bought after 1 Sep 2012, can ask vendor to change or repair under "Lemon Law" which took effect from 1 Sep 2012.do approach your vendor and see what they can do to help you fix it.if over the Lemon or warranty period, can consider buying the cartridge from vendor and DIY. do a search in YouTube and you'll see lots of "how to" guides, seems not difficult. dolphin88 0 Report post Posted January 11, 2013 Thanks for the reply and advice. Yup, ok, I will contact the vendor to see what can be done... I figure changing the cartridge will not be cheap too. Might be better to just exchange or refund...
