Our Second Reno Journey

Recommended Posts

Ahh finally found u! Was thinking really hard as to who recommended the steam mop in this forum lol!

Sounds gd but any concern abt no fragrant detergent used anymore? :P

And when u wash the microfibre cloth, is it tough to remove the stains/dirt?

Does it leave any watermarks or streaks on the floor?

Sorry if my questions sound silly haha..

Hi Redder.

For fragrance, I think it's up to individual ? We're ok with no fragrance. Ermm if fragrance is an issue you can consider potpourri ?

The cloth is quite ok to clean (we hand wash it, though ang mos throw it in washing machine) But if you want it looking brand new after using it a few times, it's quite impossible la. They sell the refill cloths at most DIY stores.

Regarding water marks, I think not a major cause of concern as it's not as wet as compared to conventional mop. So far no water marks / streaks on our floor.

Hope it helps.

Before I forget, the detectable handle is light as compared to the mop's heavy head(when filled with water). This may cause the handle to crack if you frequently lift it from its handle.

But the good thing about the heavy base is that you don't need to exert strength during cleaning as compared to conventional mops.

Remember to keep the receipt / warranty card just in case the handle breaks.

Hi macuser77, I read that you purchased the Bravat wc. May I know how you find the wc? Are they good? I'm also quite particular about wc and am worried about buying wc that has "blind spots" that no matter how many times you flush, the water just can't reach certain spots, resulting in stains. (sorry for such description). Appreciate your review of the wc! Also, if you don't mind, are you able to share the price range of the Bravat wc or is there a package price for the wc and sink? You may PM me as I can't send you PM. Thanks!

We think it's not worth getting 1 just for making stew leh.

I feel that the branded ones are not worth it also.

Managed to buy one from k-mart for 19 bucks though.

Worth carrying it back from overseas!

1) Can the Black & Decker Steam mop clean laminate floor?

2) Can the Black & Decker Steam mop clean Homogeneous Tiles also?

3) What is your house's flooring made of?

4) What kind of hooks use for the curtains? Is it plastic or metal?

Hi Macuser 77,

I am currently looking for an ID for my new HDB and saw your thread and love your renovation. Do you mind sending me Mr K's quote to you? I would like to compare and see.

Thank you so much.
