HappyAng 0 Report post Posted January 21, 2013 Today went down to meet ID and tiler to discuss on some dimension. Keep hearing ID and tiler discuss how to do to have 漂亮收口 for the tiling work. Will share more photos on those 收口..Kitchen tiles are up. Those small plastic piece are to leave small and uniform gaps between tiles.I asked tiler, how come the opening of the rubbish chute so small nia?His reply, to ensure a flat surface and uniform gap. He will enlarge the opening when tiles are dry.Tiler is very detail in his work. Asked him how come the three tiles (right side of the photo) are shorter than the rest? His reply, to leave space for wall to be erect. By putting the wires between hollow blocks is to strengthen the wall.View from master toilet.View from common toilet.

HappyAng 0 Report post Posted January 28, 2013 After 19 days of renovation...Master toilet. Can u notice the difference in the black tiles (third tiles from the top)? The tiles are cut slightly shorter to achieve a 漂亮收口. Tiler is very detail on those 收口. ID specially request tiler to shift the shelve in by 10mm to look nicer. Tiler will need to cut a small piece of tile to patch up the small gap. Living hall tiles (marble effect) are up. There will be a step separate living and kitchen. Why the tiles do half way? It is the gap for the sliding door to flush with kitchen wall. Sorry if I sound confuse to u. Will post more clearer photo when the tile is complete.

HappyAng 0 Report post Posted January 29, 2013 HappyAng, your renovation is progress well. your living hall and kitchen flooring flushed? or is there a step? There will be a drop (about one tile thickness) between living hall and kitchen. HappyAng 0 Report post Posted January 29, 2013 After 20 days of renovation...Floor tiles for level one toilet.Since it is small area, we do a step with small gradient at the shower area. Water can easily flow to the floor trap. Decide to use stainless steel floor trap, since there isn't extra charge and easy to open. The plastic piece is embedded into the cement to prevent the edge from easy chip off.Hollow block wall and cabinet base are up.Notice the base is slightly shorter than the hollow block wall? Again, ID request tiler to do so, say the finishing is nicer this way. Notice that the tiler is very detail with his work. Even the hole for the water to drain, internal wall (such a small area) also cover with tiles. The tiler also do a cover (both side are tiles, at the left side of the photo) for the drain hole. Really appreciate his hard work.
HappyAng 0 Report post Posted January 31, 2013 After 22 days of renovation...If u look carefully, can see the plastic piece embedded in the cement screed.. There's also a small drop (about one tile thickness) between living hall and kitchen.Utility room is up. We will be doing pebble wash at the entrance area. ID told me that HE WILL BE DOING it by himself wor... Well.. Let's see how's his worksmanship then.. Balcony with 15x90 tiles. ID request tiler to leave small gap between the vertical tiles so that it looks more real. We will not be plastering brick wall but to paint it white. Common toilet flooring is done. U channel will be embedded into the cement wall to support the laminated glass railing.
