aqishababy 0 Report post Posted November 9, 2012 Hi Everyone,Have been lurking around Reno Talk for many months now trying to find all the tips & help that we can find. So now its our turn to start our own T Blog. Our transition is rather a big jump... we have actually sold off our Sengkang flat many many years ago... then we decided to buy a crib at JB... Now, 4yrs later... after being tired of travelling to & fro JB-SIN-JB every working/schooling day... and after being tired of having to clean up a 2 storey house... we have decided to move back to Home Sweet Homeland Singapore and buy a 3 room resale flat at Bedok Reservoir Its a normal 3NG resale flat We have taken our keys on 25th Oct, chosen our ID... and now are in the midst of our renovation So let the pics do the talking yeah. First of all, the front door... hehehe...

aqishababy 0 Report post Posted November 10, 2012 Okay... so we are going into the 13th day (next Monday) of our new crib's reno process... so far so good... except for some small hiccups which we'll share with you guys later...Just now we collected our lightings which we bought frm JB... was kinda worried how to go thru customs at first coz donno how much will get taxed... even though the shop gave us another receipt of undervalue for customs purposes... So we went to the Red Lane to declare... n luckily for us the customs officer told us that its okay can go when we told him that these are lightings for our new house... he said quite a number of S'poreans have done this also... hehehhe... unsurprisingly of coz... Our next ordeal will be to bring in the hob, hood & oven which we bought from JB as well... will be bringing in next Sat... hopefully we got a nice officer also lah... Just now we managed to get our 2 queen bedroom sets & dining set as well... these will be brought back by our movers which will bring all the huge things n furns back to SG...Okay now back to the small hiccups... when the contractor hacked the middle wall which separated the kitchen & living area... there is a beam at the top which they said they can't hack So its rather unsightly coz its like smacked in the middle of our dining area to be Below pics for reference :Can see the top beam there? The pic below are taken from kitchen view.. from this view the beam doesn't look so bad coz kitchen ceiling is lower We will be doing a false ceiling n L box in the living area.. but we dont think the L box will be able to cover the whole of the beam rite? Can anyone share your experiences on how you guys hide this beam, or rather make it look nice & presentable? Another unsightly part is the pic below See the jutted out skirting of the living area ? Uwwahhhh... looks rather weird rite? Cracking our heads also on wat to do with this one Sooo... hopefully will be able to get any feedbacks from you guys yeah... who are the pros n who have gone thru or going thru this rather mind boggling renovation process of our own cribs... hehehe...gonna sleep now.. will continue again on Monday when we visit the house again... till then... toodle oooooo....
