Sandrababe 0 Report post Posted October 30, 2012 (edited) Hi AllHave been contemplating to start a T-blog on my house reno since it started beginning of this month... well. Procrastination is evil This is our second house. Like our first house, hub laid similar criteria during house search for high floor, unblocked view, windy, convenient with amenities, bright, etc a very long list of expectations for future house. Of cos' I know this would come with a price. A hefty one, considering that it is a 38yo house and we have to revamp the house after buying it. Anyway, we are glad that despite such a "stringent" criteria, we manage to find one that we both love after like 12 viewings. Heh. Since we have got a new born baby to keep us busy so we are really glad we din take too long to find that dream house. To cut the story short. We have got our house keys on 20th Oct 12 and reno started on 28th Oct 12 after getting the permit from HDB. Its a 4 room point block that resemble the below layout, only difference is that the upgraded balcony (sorta full length windows) is located at the masterbed room and all the rooms come with full stretch windows panels. So basically the whole house is full of windows....!The challenge of this house is that, the toilets are really small! That means to say, no vanity top for me and only 1 shower at the bigger toilet. Good thing is, the previous owner has applied for a second WC so now we don't have to fight over toilet in times of urgency. Also, there is no storeroom, a big issue for us as we have 2 young kids = lotsa barang to store!Due to my time schedule with the kids, we din have the luxury to meet up with alot of IDs/contractors. The current ID is the 3rd one we spoke to.Credit to a forumer, who is also my hub's colleague, we found our ID. He is J**** Tan from 3D Innovative. He is a rather busy person but despite that, will still try to meet our timing and requests whenever we needed him at the site. However, always in my mind lingers this question.... (not too sure if I'm too demanding) isn't the ID supposed to be at the site everyday?Anyways. This is already our 1st month into reno. and we are now left with paint-works, cleaning, lightings installation and carpentary. Seems to be on track for our Mid Nov move in. Sandrababe 0 Report post Posted October 30, 2012 (edited) As like previous house, we opted for modern/contemporary style (not gangnam style, hehe!) for new house. We do not like too much woody stuff, except for floorings, so I tried to keep it minimal on woods in our choice of materials.
