Hi! We actually quite like Jurong West area. Been staying here for the past 2 years, and it's quiet here compared to other areas so we decided to look for a house here. The only irritating thing is the planes flying past sometimes.. so noisy! :bangwall:

Been busy for the past few days, but we managed to buy 1 more item for the house! A fridge!! :yamseng:

Samsung Side-by-Side Refrigerator RSA1WTIS

RSA1WTIS.jpg

Bought from Harvey Norman for $1099. Our initial budget was actually less than $1000 for a fridge, and we were seriously considering the white side-by-side fridge from Samsung ($949), but we were afraid that it might get dirty easily and it's harder to match a white fridge with our kitchen haha.

Anyway there's a promotion from Samsung right now, and with the purchase of the fridge, we can have a choice of a $150 Cold Storage voucher or a Coffee Bean coffee machine. Think we might choose the coffee machine instead :)

After such a long time, I am finally have the determination to update my tblog haha... been procrastinating for too long already..

Since the previous update, our house has been painted (not completed), false ceiling done, lightings and aircon installed, and stucco walls up.

View from the living room to the main entrance:

My wife was afraid that the colors she chose might be too dark (scared mosquitoes come into our house at night :dunno: ), but I really liked the colors.. always wanted something darker and more bold.. my mother was too conservative and we always had light-colored walls..

Stucco wall for TV console:

Looks quite good to us.. didn't expect the wall to have the rustic textures haha... but since it is made up of plaster, we are quite afraid that it might not be durable in the long run. Oh well.. we couldn't afford Craftstone anyway.. We did 2 stucco walls, one for the TV console, and 1 for the entrance way/balcony coming into the house.

Our bedside lamps:

Got 2 of these wall-mounted at the side of our bed... will get our ID to install a small ledge under each lamp... Didn't know what type of bedside lamps to get, so we got a simple (and relatively cheaper) one...

Aircon installation:

Because we did false ceilings in all the bedrooms, the space left for the aircon is really little! We didn't know where to place it, and we didn't want the aircon to be too low or be in the middle of the wall.. so the aircon man suggested that we get the contractor to cut a hole/recess area for the aircon to sit inside. Wife didn't really like the idea at first, and felt that it might appear that we are trying too hard to hide our aircon unit.. After going through all the alternatives with her (need to consider the ugly trunkings too), she finally went with this suggestion

Some lighting that we chose

We chose pretty standard (and boring) lightings.. the nice feature lights are really really expensive! Lighting wasn't really a big consideration during our design process of the house :(

Kitchen:

Standard kitchen lights, recommended by store person..

Toilet:

Service Yard:

For the rest of the house, we had philips downlights installed in our false ceiling... didn't take any photos of that..

Pebbles Wash

Before the contractor could install the pebbles wash, we had to do a chemical wash first, to ensure that the area is very clean (according to our ID :P ), so after the lightings, aircon and stucco walls were up, he arranged one evening for cleaning...

Service Yard:

Our ID went down to site and Whatsapp us this image.. looks better than I expected haha.. Was afraid that it might look boring or ugly :good:

No Entry!!!

Balcony/Entrance Way (work-in-progess):

IMG-20121121-WA0001.jpg

We would be installing a half-height shoe cabinet/umbrella storage unit on the left hand side, so hopefully the brown tiles would be centralized in the walkway when completed..

View from Masterbedroom:

If we work hard enough, maybe one day we can move into one of those units here? :dunno: :dunno:

Bonus Pic:

It has been raining quite alot the past few days, and we have been leaving our dog alone at home while we go and visit the house... I guess he's angry so he stole our umbrella and don't want to return to us... 8|

Your dog is very funny in showing its displeasure. My rabbit pees at my girl feet or her bed when it feels neglected by her ( the rabbit very attach to her)

The things our pets do really made our day. :P

Yeah it's quite funny sometimes :D .. There was once we were doing some calculations for curtains on a piece of paper and ignoring him, so he ripped that paper and ate the scraps! 8| 8| He usually leaves pieces of paper alone, so we didn't keep our calculations in a safe place when we left the room!!! Of course we were quite annoyed at that time, but it's quite funny to think about it now :sport-smiley-018:

He was so excited when he came into the new house.. running and jumping and sniffing all over. Luckily he hasn't destroyed or damaged anything in the house yet
