Congrats on the huge house =)

Your drawings make you feel like a home reno pro

Not really a Pro, just that I use words & excel to draw for my work a lot of time, hence it became a easy task for me to draw. :paint:

Contractor dropped a bad news: Few existing floor tiles in the Living have hollowness.

:bangwall: Was Arugh hearing this, the seller had a lousy contractor. :fire:

This weekday have to go down to check the floor tiles condition after clearing the sand and derbis. Hope only few bad tiles have the hollowness

Selection of Kompactop for Kitchen top and vanity top

Kompactop.jpg?et=6wDU1eEHeTmyS5X0Ldh8pg&nmid=616607782

Are you using Kompactop for kitchen top or as kitchen cabinet laminate? Cos your pic shows "kitchen cabinet" marked on one of the colours...

I'm considering Kompactop too! Please share your feedback on it, if any! Not many people using it so far, can't find alot of feedback. Thanks!

I will be using Kompactop and have notified Doreen Lee from Kompacplus about it. She would be sending her people during 1st week of Jan to do site measure and install within 5 working days. She brought the sample and brochure to my home in a short notice.

eekenji is using and has photographs showing the finished product.

Standardizing the height of light switches and power points

Saw the height difference between two set of lighting switches in the Master Bedroom, it is a eye sore hence decide to set 1.5m for all the light switches and power points.

Is there a standard height people usually set it at?

After reading thru a couple of T-blogs, I reliased the height of many things can be customised to suit yourself: Switches, Sink, Kitchen countertop, etc.. :sport-smiley-003:

Yes, there is a standard height for the swtiches and kitchen counter top, basins if you did not specify.

As both my wife and me are >1.7m tall, we requested the kitchen counter top & basins to be 900mm from floor level so that we don't have to bend excessively. My MIL would probably be the one complaining when she come to my place to cook! :P

For my kids, they probably have to bring their stools around to brush teeth, turn on the light.

Week 4 of renovation - Partition wall set up and electrical work

Week-4-Living-Study-floor-tiles-laid.png?et=OhGAz6203hELP7Gn2qfE0A&nmid=616607782

Finally major work was completed on 29 Dec 2012, the workers were laying the tile skirting and cleaning the tiles before they left. However they would have to come back to do a small portion on the service balcony which I saw water ponding there. Good thing they put a tap there to take water and let me know the problem now. Otherwise I will only know when I do washing on the floor. :notti:

Met the carpenter and electrican, finalized on the carpentry work and electrical work on site.

Final work informed by my contractor

02 Jan Wed - Install partition

03 Jan Thur - Painting, measurement for doors & shower screen

04 Jan Fri - Install all lightings

05 Jan Sat - Re-varnish parquet semi-gloss for 3 bedrooms

07 Jan Mon - Install kitchen door

08 Jan Tue - Chemical washing, install kitchen cabinet & shoe rack

09 Jan Wed - Besglas Install study door, bathroom bi-fold doors and shower screen

15 Jan Tue - Kompacplus Install Kitchen table top and Vanity Top

22 Jan Tue - Install kitchen cabinet glass backing and panel

Only pending is my Walk-In Wardrobe by OPSH since I enagaged them directly

Only problem is won't be able to cook except using portable induction cooker from 11 Jan - 22 Jan.
