Sequence Of Reno Works Without Id

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

Pls correct me if I am wrong. This is my understanding of the sequence of reno works for a resale flat.

1. Hacking of any walls or tiles, removals or existing windows grilles and windows.

2. Electrical works.

3. Installation of false ceilings, new tiles.

4. Painting of whole house.

5. Installation of aircon, new windows.

6. Installation of laminates flooring for whole house.

7. Installation of carpentry works.

8. Final clean up.

I intend to engage contractors for the entire reno works due to budget constraints.

Thanks in advance!

Hi there,

You missed out the masonry or wet works and plumbing works. concurrently will be electrical and aircon, not to forget installation of window and door frames as well. They will have to be done after your hacking. Painting should be one of the last items, before carpentry and flooring installation.

Hope this helps.

Thanks Mike. There will not be much plumbing works except to change the location of the two toilet basins location. Not much wet works as well except overlays for both toilet wall and floor tiles.

So the correct sequence should be???

1. Hacking of any walls or tiles, removals or existing windows grilles and windows.

2. Electrical works, false ceilings, new tiles, plumbing.

3. Installation of aircon, new windows.

4. Painting of whole house.

5. Installation of laminates flooring for whole house.

6. Installation of carpentry works.

7. Final clean up.

False ceiling will be after electrical, plumbing and aircon installation. Cuz you would want to run the pipes and cables first and hide them in the false ceiling if possible. Force ceiling comes together with any wall plastering then painting. Many of the works will move and install concurrently. Take note also on the installation of miscellanous items like glass works, showerscreens etc.
