anting 0 Report post Posted October 10, 2012 (edited) Hi gyus, can I check if I want to lay homogeneous tiles, do I need to get HDB to screed the floor before laying tiles? Cos' I'm under the impression that screeding is to make the floor very smooth to lay laminates. And for laying tiles, if the floor is too 'smooth', the tiles won't be able to lay and 'stick' to the floor. Can anyone pls advise. Thanks.Forgot to add that my flat is a new 4 room standard flat, i.e. no floor tiles kind. Edited October 10, 2012 by anting

My tiler advise me to hack small holes so that the motar mixture can mix better with the existing flooring. That will ensure that there will not be hollow sound next time.
