I hope you will not stop blogging here as i really love how you renovate and furnish your place. Really enjoy your posts on DIY and i think it puts alot of guys to shame ( me included definitely , i suck in technical classes ) . Anyways i think that the home furnishing process is lifelong! so just enjoy and im sure others (like me) enjoy reading your blog

I absolutely agree! Yours is one of the few blogs that I check out daily!!

I will just bring along the sample and show them. Any idea how much it costs?

What's the desk grommet for?

It's usually used at the corner of computer/study desk. The wires are slotted through the hole and plugged to the power point. Neater this way. In my case, I used it on my tv console.

Yesterday was a no-cleaning, no-DIY and no-cooking day for me. Yes, I'm slave to my home and I'm at its beck and call! So i decided yesterday should be a ME-day and what better way than to go shopping and eat yummy food.

I had 'bak chor mee' for both breakfast and dinner (pure indulgence!), bought shoes and one set of quilt cover and pillow cases. I'm most pleased with the quilt cover and pillow cases because the prints match the prints on my vintage paper very well (if you still remember my vintage paper). It was discounted as it was the last set left and the price was incredibly cheap! how lucky! I will post some pix when I next change my quilt cover but here's a shot taken in the shop.

And just as I was happily shopping, I came across some wooden boards in Daiso. I couldn't resist taking a second look because they were so nice and clean. But inside my head, an alarm went off and a voice kept telling me 'no more DIY'!! It was a tug-of-war between the rational me and the home-slave me. Well in the end, the home slave won and l lugged home a pile of pseudo wood even though I had no idea what to do with it (I fall into the category of buy-now-worry- later).

So here's my irrational purchase.

All these went into my huge pink shopping bag with my shoes and quilt cover :)

Sometimes Im amazed by how much my life has changed in the one year since I signed on the OTP. Now instead of doing simple DIY on clothes, bags and shoes, I'm tackling bigger home DIY with my limited skills. Now I like browsing in hardware shops, as much as I like grocery shopping and going for high tea and art exhibitions. I like girly stuff as much as I like wood and pipes.

Thanks for sharing your ME-day! Yes sometimes we are just so caught with the house that we neglect ourselves. I miss going for mani & pedicures. Now the thought of housework has pushed such pampering away!

Please don't stop blogging! I'm a silent but faithful reader :)

I also read your personal blog and your post on someone watching you, I hear ya. My neighbours aren't as blunt but they did ask me quite a few times whether I was living alone.. Makes you wonder what sorta thoughts go through their mind.

Anyhow, keep up the DIY work and hope that your hand has recovered!

Hi heavenlyn, long time no 'see'.. ! Ya, people are curious about newcomers, esp. If they are women who live alone. Makes me wonder if people are also curious about men who live alone..:)

Hi June, may I know r there different size available for the daiso wooden planks?

Yup, I saw there are smaller pieces. The one I bought is the biggest - about 45cm by 12 cm.

Haha...! I dont have many bags now bcos I spring clean while packing for the big move and also 'forgot' some stuff in my parents' place. I made shelvings for my bags and bedsheets.

Here's a pix. The top shelve is empty bcos I'm too lazy to stand on a chair to reach it.
