kaylinpickles 1 Report post Posted October 5, 2012 Hi guys, to all the BTO owners where you all get your keys altogether when the project is ready. I have a question to ask - is it very noisy when almost everybody does their reno together? Even though there's not much hacking for new flats, I think there's still a considerably amount of noise for drilling and hammering. Is the noise unbearable or is it still ok? Coz I'm thinking whether or not to soundproof my room. I'm working night shift as a nurse hence I will need to sleep during the day. Can anyone advise? Thanks! Thanks!wear ear plug. to soundproof one room to be free from external noise(high DB like drilling sound) is almost impossible, and it is going to be very expensive, since you would need new SP windows/doors, as well as treatment on ceiling, floor and walls. LEDguy 0 Report post Posted October 5, 2012 hi Kaylinpickles,i dont think soundproofing your room would help much as most of the noise you hear would be caused by the vibrations running through the structure of the building. your best bet really is to close your windows and turn on some music with ear plugs if your a light sleeper. back in army all of us wore ear plugs to sleep because there would always be a snoring monster in the bunk of 10 pax, worked like a dream
Batman 0 Report post Posted October 5, 2012 Sound level is subjective la sista. How loud is loud n how soft is soft right?Even if its can be measured, say 100dB, will it be meaningful to u?So just use ear plug n 2 pillows lor. Cost below $100 somemore. Times rgetting bad liao so...
