Our 安乐窝

Recommended Posts

Hi guys, I have been a silent reader and so now its time for me to share my house setup journey with all of you.

I got a 5I in Woodlands, this was the 6th house hubby and myself had viewed and we closed the deal on the day itself. Hubby thought it may be a impulsive decision (that's my character) but I felt it a good buy.

We are praying hard it can be our matrimonial house.

FloorPlan.jpg

Option Signed: 24 June 2012

First Appt: 7 Sept 2012 (Submission was delayed due to personal reason)

Second Appt: 25 Oct 2012 (as my seller was doing contra, that explain the long wait)

Looking for good contractors? Click here for your request

Welcome and hope to see more pix of your Reno...meantime, happy ID hunting. :yamseng:

Well, actually we had already chosen our ID (wont be reviewing the ID till the start of my reno). And my friend was "scolding" me for being EXCITED, to buy almost all items for the new house even before first appt.

Indeed, I am excited to go thru this journey.

So my update here will be slightly back-logged, hope all reader wont mind...... :D

Hi, I also just bought a resale HDB and my seller is also a contra seller.

The seller is scheduled to hand me the key on Dec 10 (2nd HDB appt).

From what I understand, the seller will only collect the keys of their new house on the same day!

How does this work?

Did he requested for extension stay or maybe he do has a place to stay?

For my case, my seller's seller is waiting for new flat, and so my seller is doing contra and my seller asked for 30 days extension stay (private arrangement)

so for your case, dont worry about your seller if there's no arrangement, and wait for your keys in Dec (but why in Dec - so long from now)

Condition of the house looks good.

Better to check the house and bathrooms for molds and water leakage on the ceiling and walls.

Better to ask the owner to fix it or other arrangement or else you will end up spending a lot of time going back and forth trying to get this resolve with the upstairs neighhbours etc..

My 2 cents of knowledge. Hope it helps.

Thanks for the advice, and we are doing the following:

- Redo the whole Kitchen (removal of all kitchen cabinets)

- Redo both common/master bathroom floor & wall tiles with new shower screens

- Redo living room's false ceiling to 1-sided L-box with down-lights

- Removal of master platform and wardrobe

- Installation of full HT shoe 3.5ft cabinet
