The Experience: Our First Home

Recommended Posts

The IDs have informed that they can finish all the additional things we need rectified by tomorrow. They're also helping us drill hooks and screws for us to hang some of our accessories. Can't wait to start making the place a home!

Relying on pictures to keep me occupied. The big move is on Saturday!

I really like your windows and curtains!

Thank you thank you :) That's the only window panel with my favorite cafe curtains! The rest are usual curtains la. But I really like the blinds on my first floor too :)

Nice!!!! Can't wait to move in huh! Congrats!

Thank you! Yes, totally can't wait to move in :D although the unpacking scares me :P

Love love your cafe curtains. Can share where you got them? Think I might hv missed your posting on it. Don't mind if I also use this idea? Thinking of putting them at my kitchen windows. :dribble:

Sure sure, go ahead! Ideas are meant for sharing :D We bought the curtain rail from IKEA, super cheap! The curtains themselves were expensive because we ordered it with the rest of our curtains from a curtain maker. The pattern is pretty and the cloth was special, so we caved :P if you want, you can actually make it yourself by going to spotlight/IKEA to choose cloth and get someone to hem it for you. I wanted to do that, but didn't like the cloth selection at Spotlight when I went (IKEA's cloth doesn't feel as good). But maybe you would find something you like since Spotlight does have a lot of cloth!

Tomorrow is the day!!!!!! Excited ????

Today! :sport-smiley-004: Excited la, but looking at the boxes that need to be moved to the new place, headache man.

summersann, are u ready to move in to ur new place? Excited? :sport-smiley-004:

Not ready at all! :bangwall: So many things not packed yet. But we'll still move in tonight and start staying there! Going to move the "Zoo" with us too, that's going to be the biggest headache (so many stressed animals in the car!).

Hi summersann!

Please i check where did you get your study table assembly?

TYVM in advance!

We got the legs from IKEA. Our ID did the plank for us (we chose the laminate) because we couldn't find a study table that fit our selection criteria :P So our ID took the IKEA legs and did our study table for us :)

All of you must be awfully excited now! It is always fun moving with your pets - yes they are stressed but when they reach the new place, their curiosity takes over, they then start to explore and mark their territory heehee!

Actually one of our biggest concerns is our dog.. To adapt to new environment and strangers walking in and out during moving etc.. And there surely have some ongoing touch up here and there..

And the safety part ESP staircase

Haha, no marking of territories! heh :D

We brought our dog over after most of the works were done, so that he could get used to the place. We found that he actually didn't want to go up the stairs. But our boy has always been wary of stairs, so I guess that was a good thing! We took leave so we can stay home the week after we move and keep an eye on our animals :)

Happy moving dear :yamseng:

Thank you! :D hope your renovation's going well!

Moved in! It's been an exhausting day of rushing around and lugging things up and down.

The place is still in a mess, and there's still so much cleaning to do. But I give up. For tonight.

In love with the rain shower. The water pressure is wonderful!

The dog's settled in quite well (looks like bringing him over once in a while when we were checking on the house helped)! The cat's still hiding under the bed :P
