hellokitty85 0 Report post Posted September 20, 2012 Hi!I would like to check for my quote fr my ID : Masonry Works (max tile price $2.40PSF) -Supply material & labour to lay 600 x 600 homogenous floor tiles for living, balcony and store room (approx 580sqft) : $5880 <---- Is this amount expensive? Also, would you recommend laminate flooring for bedrooms? My aircon guy at my current house said that if the aircon leaked and had mini flood in my bedroom (like my current room during the last wk) on the laminate flooring, it would be gone case. Is that true?By the way, is it easy to dismantle main door and bedroom doors by ourselves? Balcony too. (if it's possible to save this money)My total quote $30+k. for old 5 room flat. Thanks!!! (if it's possible to save this money)My total quote $30+k. for old 5 room flat. Thanks!!!At $5880 for 580sf means $10 psf. Minus $2.4psf tiles means $7.6 for labour and material. slightly more ex i would say. Do note balcony need water proofing membrane alright? Check with your ID.Laminate flooring under flood wont be gone case. Just have to clean it real quick as it is only water resistant. So will definitely damage the flooring if left alone.Doors are not easy to dismantle. They maybe heavy too and might damage your floor if not handled properly. So its still best to engage the professionals to help you dismantle and replace. ,Mike Edited September 20, 2012 by mikeyong500

twistie 0 Report post Posted November 4, 2012 Why don't you try homogenous tiles with a wood finish for the bedrooms? They come in all sorts of colours and grain textures, and are affordable. Material cost ranges from $2 all the way to $4+ and $7+ for the Italian ranges.I just picked out my homogenous wood finish tiles at Soon bee huat in Jurong. They had so many choices that we were spoilt for choice. : )
