Bed Room Office - Glass Top Desk

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

I'm re-arranging my room due a career change that requires more self discipline and motivation. I've read and research a little here and there with regards to the placement of bed, desk, and other lil stuff. I'm living in a 3 room flat, common room with my parents so space is very limited.

I saw this very beautiful glass table at a popular furniture store today, the shape resembles that of a kidney and I kinda fell in love with it after looking for such a long time. I did some readup, I know that glass top or glass desk as an office table is not recommended as it is said that $$ and business will fall through it.

What puzzles me is that some of the ppl holding high positions also had been working on glass top desk for years. So my question would be if I really want to use that desk, what should I place or look out for do that the effect/result of using that desk is not substantial as it might be with most belifs?

Anyone using glass top table desk here care to share? I think that wood, although considered as one of the best material in FS, is kinda old-school.

Any input is much appreciated.

Back to 3 basic principles:

1. Tian, Di, Ren combined as one.

- "Glass table" born at right time, right place onto right person. Much "subjective" to environmental factors, include human constructs. Some employees may see this table most suited to boss, some may view it as "sore eye"......

2. Yin Yang balance.

- Girls with too much "yang" become tom boys. Men with too much "ying" appear to be girly. Glass table must suit user's styles. Conservative, traditional "tao kay" and "tao kay niang", to me, completely out. Old values with "old" ways of doing things can't work well with "new pattern". Pls google why Apple's desinger insisted glass panel on iPhone, u will get some insight thoughts, why no "plastic"...

3. 5 elements combined, maximise "sheng", minising "ke".

Office/home environment is evolving, bear in mind. Maximising own's convienence, don't overlook others' discomfort.

3 in a loop.

Best advice is to follow your instincts. If you are in luck... you will pick the right ones...

If you think u want to get the "BEST" advice money can buy, get a really good FSM to work with you.

Working on the nitty gritties without or some basic knowledge of the subject is not good

Hi Jeff,

I'm not a FSM, but I would personally not get a glass top for a study table as it is rather distracting, as compared to a wooden table. With a wooden table, you will only have to focus on the papers in front of you, but with a glass top, your feet, the floor, etc will be in your line of vision when you look down.

I think if you are looking for focus, a wooden table may be more appropriate.

But of course, this is a matter of personal preference.

Good stars over the table more important. Glass or plastic or wood should be tertiary

What if the table area has bad stars? How to know these stars.
