smartgold 0 Report post Posted September 19, 2012 Hi, I like to ask for advice why do we need 2 trips for air con installation. Please advise is it for dust prevention only or is their any other consideration? Like false ceiling etc.... Also is it OK to install air- con as first item even before renovation or painting as I am quite urgent to move in. Thanks alot everyone
amyth 0 Report post Posted September 20, 2012 hi broi run an aircon biz too, jus to share.reason there is few.1. painting, best advice to paint the whole house then up the fan coil unit, in any case in future you may change a fan coil with diff size there maybe patches around the coil area. 2. cupboards / closet, the pipe needs to run first the fit in the custom made closet has been a tend due to smaller room size with new bto flats.dust prevention not so much, you can advice your contractors to wrap it up, but i go have experience that my customer complain y is the aircon full of saw dust and its a brand new set. i ended up doing a chemical service for the brand new aircon 1 wk after my client moved in. reason some contractor jus on the whole hse air con whn they are working. there are some of the reasons i encounter. hope these advice helps
smartgold 0 Report post Posted September 21, 2012 Hi Amyth, thanks for replying. So basically I am not wrong to fix up air con before any renovation start. Also I will be staying in when I am doing minor renovation. Of course I must not mind the painting part. Installing air con first will not clash with any electrical work right? Thanks so much... Nivle 0 Report post Posted September 22, 2012 Mine only uses 1 trip during reno, they came at 11am-have a little discussion with my ID on 'route' of running the electrical point and drainage pipe(trunking). finishes at 530pm. they will leave the cable there and electrician suppose to connect to the air-con point. after the air con installed, mine id proceed to conceal the piping(false ceiling and patching)Good if ID is around to ensure no blockage when your build in cabinets coming in etc..Painting and the rest comes later Good luck mate
