Zoe82 0 Report post Posted October 1, 2014 Yes, me and my hubby bought 2 pieces of lamp from Tao Bao via an agent and it came over scratched on the lamp shade Super bad quality and no point for us to ship back and ask for refund as I can guess they will say its was scratched during shipping. Anyone got good lightings shop to recommend?
accidentalgenius 2 Report post Posted October 10, 2014 (edited) I visited 1 shop in Tesco Tebrau City on the ground floor and 3 in the Taman Ros Merah industrial area and found that the LED downlights in Malaysia are a lot more expensive than Yafen’s for the same wattage. Anyone knows where in JB can we get cheap and good LED downlights? I am looking for 30 units of 9W white round downlights.I am now leaning towards buying all my downlights from yafen.sg. Her product knowledge seems quite poor and her English is quite limited so I have to communicate with her in Mandarin. I bought 1 downlight from her first to check the quality and I noticed that the finish is a lot better than the ones I seen in JB and Balestier. The luminosity (brightness) is also a lot higher for the same wattage. According to her, her relative owns a light factory in China and she ensures that she gets good quality LEDs and products. She can also manufacture custom-made lights in China if you provide the pictures and specifications. Anyone knows the long term reliability of her lights? There was some discussion about her earlier in this thread. Anyone had any horror stories with dealing with Yafen? Can share your experiences? LarryLCrocker 0 Report post Posted September 18, 2015 Everything Is Under One RoofInstead of walking into various stores, you can get an extensive range of products on Taobao as the platform hosts thousands of independent retailers. Unlike iKEA, a one-size-fits-all retailer (but still awesome), you could almost find any style of furnishing from Scandinavian to industrial and to other ahem ‘undefined’ style. Our homeowner, Eve, was unable to find the perfect coffee table for their home in local stores here until she shopped at Taobao. i ussually also find my idea here http://davescosmicsubsatl.com/

skb 2 Report post Posted May 25, 2016 (edited) I had previously bought LED downlights from JB (Starworld @ Tompoi), cost RM60 (exchange rate around 2.9x) for 18W LED, with 3 colours and remote (remote control cost RM15). The same light cost 70.80RMB from taobao (https://item.taobao.com/item.htm?spm=a1z0k.7385993.1997994373.d4919385.Ivq20j&id=45644732766&_u=peu3vn1d598). I prefer LED lights that can change 3 colours and with remote, thus slightly more expensive (without remote is about RM30+). I had just ordered 20 downlights (12W 3 colours https://item.taobao.com/item.htm?spm=a1z09.2.0.0.i0LvQJ&id=42488671786&_u=p1lq4rcna97f) from taobao. JB would have cost 30RM, taobao is RMB33. Anyway, just order from taobao and will only ship out this few days. Will know if it is ok when I collect it. It is very easy to change downlight even it is spoil, just buy spare one since it is not expensive in Taobao Edited May 26, 2016 by skb
