Where To Install Ventilation Fan In The Bathroom

Noticed that many ventilation fans are installed on the window glass itself, it looks a bit strange to me. Shouldn't it be installed on the wall rather than the window? i mean open a hole on top or beside the bathroom window, and fit the fan in. Or, it is another rule from hdb?

Window will be cheaper. from my view.

Just want to ask those with experience, can I install ventilator fan in the false ceiling, because I have a toilet that has no windows at all

if your ceiling is height enuff but for yours i think if it a HDB gov will exten soon dont worry but if you really need air vend no need false ceiling oso can do it on your door high enuff not for a person to peep
