Renovation Budget (Very New Home Owner)

Recommended Posts

Dear forumers,

I'v just got myself a resale unit. It's about 142 sqm.

I'm planning to overhaul the unit including:

1. To hack off some walls sections

2. Plastering + wall painting

3. Remove existing floor tiles and to re-lay new homo tiles

4. Remove existing wall tiles and new wall tiles up to ceiling

5. Re-lay new wirings + power points

6. Kitchen cabinets.

7. Sanitary fixtures

8. Electrical fixtures and fittings

9. Masterbedroom wardrobe

I have about S$50k budget. I'm wondering if it is sufficient and do i still have the luxury to engage an I.D. ? Thanks !

If hdb then the budget should be ok to get ID cum

Contractor. But if condo then will be a bit more difficult cos pricing for condo generally higher due to many hidden costs.

For 50k budget, an id will consider it a tight budget if u have above average expectations... a contractor should be able to do it at a ok range for the same expectation considering the mark down.

When it comes to renovation budget it is a limitless amount depending on your requirement n expectation... Happy renovating :thumbs up:

Agreed with Luciusteo

If you got mind set what your house gonna be. Ignore ID and go for a contractor.

You may save up some which u can use to invest more on TV or other item.
