jwsh 1 Report post Posted September 22, 2012 Currently, I am in a dilemma on whether to choose LED or PLC for my downlights and cove lights.Read that the cost of LED still does not justify on its electrical savings when compare with PLC lights. Can anyone give me advise on this? jwsh 1 Report post Posted September 30, 2012 (edited) The following are the 3D drawings[Living Room]For the TV console, i had decided to take away the shelves at the left side as it looks weird without right side doing the same. The 5.1 speakers and the correct HI-FI rack are not shown in this drawing.[Dining Area][Kitchen][Guest Room][MBR Room] Edited September 30, 2012 by jwsh

jwsh 1 Report post Posted September 30, 2012 (edited) The followings are some work-in-progress photos for your viewing! The laying of the electrical wiring and cat6 lan cable for all the rooms are done. As for the rest of the electrical works, the electrician has to wait till the false ceiling and carpentry works are completed. We will be using the several remote controls to allow us to manage the lighting combination of each of the functional areas easily. For example,Remote 1Living Room - All covelights & downlights ON Only covelights ON Only downlights ON Only covelights & back downlights ON (when watching movie)[Living Room][Dining & Foyer][Kitchen] Edited September 30, 2012 by jwsh

jwsh 1 Report post Posted September 30, 2012 (edited) 29/09/12 was a shopping day for us. Our ID, Cheryl had previously advise us not to purchase furnishings without notifying her as she was worried that we would select something that would not match the overall theme or the wrong dimensions. Today, she had followed us to the shops where we had bought our furnishings (Sofa,Lightings,Dining Table, Toilet Accessories and carpet) and offered her assistance for us to make the right selection. [Our Lovely Dining Pendant Light]For the coming week, the false ceiling works will start on Monday. And on Friday, we will be meeting the carpenter for measurement & shelving planning for our TV feature wall, wardrobes , shoes cabinet, kitchen worktop and cabinets Edited September 30, 2012 by jwsh

jwsh 1 Report post Posted October 1, 2012 (edited) Yes. Our kitchen is "pigeon" small. That is the reason why i took away my SY door so that i can extend my kitchen workshop for more workarea. I have bought a good suction hood and will be using dryer often as such the issue of oil fumes is minimised. I guess there is no perfect solution but best solution. gglg 1 Report post Posted October 1, 2012 Hi jwsh, Would like to ask for your comments on the installation of aircons by Gain City? My ID told us not to go to Gain City as he said Gain City did a bad job for 2 of his clients. However, we are inclined to purchase from Gain City as payments can be made with credit card instead of cash. Also, noticed that you have also chosen to use Citygas heater? Is your installation S$250? Is this a standard rate for installation? Thanks in advance!

No matter which company you choose , you should be around to see and check during the installation to ensure the work is done properly and any issue can be resolved immediately. For Gaincity, I am sure that they have many installation teams. If a team made a mistake, does it mean the whole company is bad? There are always two sides to a story when something happens but do you get to listen to both? Citygas has standard rate listed on their website for gas piping for both kitchen and heater. Water piping installation for your heater is done separately by your own plumber. Edited October 1, 2012 by jwsh

I am using Rockwool for my false ceiling as part of the room treatment to improve the sound acoustics for my Home Theatre systemPlease note that it is not just putting rockwool on the false ceiling, there are also specific choice of material and procedures on how to mount the metal structures to the ceiling to prevent rattling.
