I would say 60% of the work is D.I.Y while 40% is minor touch up (kitchen cabinet and toilets)that cost us $8k.Just to share:Floor Plan Layout1. 2.3.4. alphakim 1 Report post Posted August 29, 2012 (edited) Basically, the house does not involved any overhaul such as drilling, hacking and etc.Due to budget constraint, we can only do minor touch up...Building a new kitchen cabinet, overlay floor tiles of 2 toilets and sanitary ware and polishing of marble floor = $8,000 pocket burnt.For replacement switches (Technician Charge: $700), it done through DIY ($150). This goes to painting (Professional Painter: $1,600) of wall by DIY ($150) as well. Therefore, it saved me some $2,000 for these 2 items.
