I duno if the Substance that we are talking about is the same. Mine I went to see was a Toa Payoh Central. We were served by Leonard who was the boss but as he was going to get married on the 5th Dec, he said that he would asign someone professional to help us out.

Wa... It was so shameful for that senior ID, D*n lor... OK, he did come down to the house to have a look. He wrote many things on the floor plan and after a week, I received a phonecall from him asking if I have a softcopy of the floorplan which I don't. Then he told me that he had lost my floorplan and wanted me to give him another copy... Wa Sei.... If even floorplan can lost, how to trust him to do reno leh... ok, nvm he said that he would go down to HDB to get a copy of the floorplan.. ok, I can see the seriousness of it.

Alright, here comes the meeting session, he showed us a rough sketch on the floorplan as to how he planned to renovate the house. Haha... what a joke. He placed the wardrobe, which is those pole system kind, at the windows, side by side along the windows in the MBR. Eg: Wardrobe Window Wardrobe. Wardrobe face each other. We feedback that if make like that, the MBR, no wind when sleeping. Totally darkness for the other side where the bed is placed and no ventilation coz the other side no window at all. When we want our theme to be BIG, BRIGHT, FRESH. He replied by saying, you don't have a choice... your house like that means like that. You can't have other ways. I told him I don't think so, like that even rain, clothing will be damp or wet. Doesn't make sense.

Then I told him my kitchen need to change some things. In the end, he advice change all, say all can't keep... He doesn't really help his clients to save leh... Actually I ask many other ID, everyone else say can retain some areas.

Next when I saw the quotation, they write there, give you this free, that thing free.. all redundant 1... Coz, don't even need. I told him his company very funny, wanna show give free thing but actually give nothing at all. Like that better don't write give this and that.. doesn't make any difference at all. He just laugh.

Anyway, I think if you want to consider ID, do source out for more and compare, you'll get cleverer each time. Don't stick to one. Basically, I feel its the person whom you must be able to click with.

Substance... i have nothing good to say about this company. It is more like a contractor who call themselves an ID firm. My hb and I had a really blood puking experience with them when we did our reno in 2007. Before we sign the person (e*sy) say until so good this and that, say what they are responsible blah bah blah, my foot! I ended up having to do HIS JOB. I ended up taking urgent leave many times just to go on site to liaise with the tiler, carpenter, laminate flooring contractor, plumber...etc, why? cos everytime call him oso never pick up, always procastinate, always say will reply but never reply. say will help us arrange this arrange that end up also never! So freaking piss with them!

then lagi best, last week our feature wall made of tiles CRACK at the sides!!!!! why? cos the tiler and gang used too much cement , the whole thing too thick, became heavy and over time crack!!! Contacted the e*sy but the only thing he did was to arrange for the tiler to come down. After that he MIA liao. hb had to arrange with the tiler n all. call him several times a day also no pick up. we used another number to call, he will pick up or reply the sms, then say will check n revert end up also dun have. then we found problem with our laminate skirting after we removed the feature wall. luckily we still had the hp of the laminate flooring guy, so we can contact him directly instead of having t go through that e*sy! cos, we have been trying to get hold of him, even calling substance itself looking for the boss, but same thing, never pick up calls n never return calls (they are in carhoots). Until now, i am still waiting for him to get back to me cos he said he will arrange for the wallpaper guy to come meet up with us. still no news from him but we already anticipated that. the day he said he will arrange for us, that very day we already signed with another wallpaper company to install for us. No point to wait for him cos he will NEVER call back, and we have no desire to leave our house in a mess just by sitting ard like idiots waiting for him to arrange.
