Suyun 0 Report post Posted November 23, 2012 I went with Jaskel to chose my laminate today. Look at what we selected for the kitchen cabinet....Don't they just match my kitchen tiles ? They have the same design of lines on them. I am just amaze at the range of laminates that is available, Jaskel helped me to select the ones that he believe will match my kitchen tiles. And they are a good combination.
Suyun 0 Report post Posted November 23, 2012 Laminate for my bar counterLaminate for my tv consoleThese are all latest design and I am very please that Jaskel took the time to meet me at sungei kadut to see the laminate as a whole piece. Usually most ID or contractor just show their clients the sample book for them to chose the laminate. My ID went the extra mile to make sure I can see big picture. Pinkflowers 0 Report post Posted November 23, 2012 Wow, looks like things are moving along very well for you. When's the targeted move in date?
Suyun 0 Report post Posted November 23, 2012 Ha Ha good question Pinkflowers. The intention is to move in mid dec and celebrate Christmas in new house. But raining season started already and that will delay works here and there. External Painting starts next week after completion of yard tiles. New gate and side fence also coming in next week. Lot of works happening at same time for next few weeks. Must pray that Lord give me favour with fair skies and good workers.
Suyun 0 Report post Posted November 29, 2012 (edited) This is the Burmese teak wood sample which I am going to lay for my stairs upon advise from my friend Jumbopanther. So made a 180 degree turnaround from laying tiles to laying whole piece teak wood. Very happy with the decision and looking forward to see the finished stairs. The company sales manager called me today to inform me that there will be a slight delay on the steps. Aiya now I can only wait.....My inspiration from my friend Edited November 29, 2012 by Suyun
Suyun 0 Report post Posted November 29, 2012 In my impulse moment I had all the doors and door frames removed. later I found out it was really expensive to replace the doors and door frames. But I still need a door to close when I go to bed and to on my aircon to cool down the room. So Jaskel brought me to shop for door and door frames at Best Industrial. This is what he suggested and I think it really goes with the overall look of the house. Latest design too. The company arranged to install the door frames today. I have not taken the photo yet, tomorrow will do so.

Tiles got too many grout lines, and difficult to 'finish' at the edges. Moreover, stepping on tiles feel hard and cold. For teak, u can get full piece on the steps, slight protrusion (over the concrete steps)at the edges and it will look beautiful. And for long term, walking up and down on the woody steps, you will appreciate the soft impact on yr feet.

Sunbird73 0 Report post Posted December 6, 2012 Hi Suyun,Your house is taking shape nicely and smoothly, it seems.I'm still at an early pre-teardown stage. Going through the tender returns with my architect this evening.Hopefully, we can award the job to a construction firm soon. Are you seriously considering installing solar panels for yr house? My husband is toying with the same idea too but I'm a rather concern of the initial investment and subsequent maintenance/replacement costs. Can share what you have gathered so far? We are now looking for companies to do the wooden floring for bedrooms as well external decking. Who did you engage? How about aircon installation? Was it Gain City?I'm a little overwhelmed by the no. of things I have to consider..
