Thanks Drillbit,

the toilet is a little dark so my ID chose this tile for me to make the toilet brighter so I can save more electricity.

It's my favourite tile. Wait till the fittings are up then it will blow me away. :dancingqueen:

Good taste in tiles selection. I just selected my tiles last weekend, though I haven't even confirmed I'm using this contractor of mine! But he's my regular contractor, and is almost like a friend. I even brought him along when I view the house a second time (before I commit)! Now I think I want to get a few quotes just to make sure I don't get ripped off...just fearful of being "chop carrot."

Anyway, whilst going thru your t-blog, I noticed you employed pest control, and you were even willing to let them drill on your marble floor. I'm also re-using my marble floor for living and dining areas, seems like a complete waste to hack it away and lay homo tiles. Did the drilling cause any damage, or was the holes obvious after patching? I imagine the holes are only drilled along the perimeter, and most of it would be covered by furniture or cabinets?

Drillbit, the pest control people drill a small hole every 30cm to pump the solution in to the ground around the house perimeter, then they patch p the hold using the closest colour they can find. It was a nicely done Job. Note that I mention only one company was confident in drilling through the marble and not worried about cracking the marble, Rxxxxxxx. If you are planning to do it, call them for a site visit and quotation. They will explain in more details.

My Sweetlittlethings,

The bar counter was our original utility room. And the kitchen was smaller and in a funny shaped.

The wall of the utility wall was hacked down but we were left with a beam which we decided to built a bar/ service counter. The counter will house my coffee maker as well.

The kitchen wall was removed and a new wall was build to make the kitchen into a square layout. If you notice the new wall with a window above it. It will be a bifold window which can fully open for better air flow.

The end results which we are working on is a brighter kitchen and more air flow. Will upload the pics when the kitchen is done.

Thanx Suyun. Yes, I recall you mentioned that only the company called Rxxx was confident enought to drill thru the marble.

Your blog has lots of contacts, price reference and ideas...which is great for me starting to go thru the same sourcing activity.

Thanx again!

Thanx Suyun. Yes, I've read their blogs too, very informative.

Drillbit,

i did not look for solid wood custom made furniture as they are expensive and not many companies doing this now. however you can try The Helping Hand at Upper Serangoon Road. They sell solid teak wood furniture. my friend bought her beautiful dining set from them and she was very happy. maybe they also can customize your furniture from their direct source with a certain lead time.
