Exodus - My Cloud Is Moving To The East

Recommended Posts

I started a blog on 11th Aug but the blog was in the wrong place and had no feedback

finally i figured it out and now here i am in T-Blog

A recap blogged on 11 Aug

Just been informed by lawyers that my home completion will be coming Friday. Looking forward to viewing the place and plan for my renovation. This will be my first time renovating my own place as my two previous homes was in moved-in condition and only needed some minor jobs to enhance it.

this is my first time blogging after reading the other members blog about their journey. :D

I am looking forward to collecting my house keys today. Can't wait... :sport-smiley-018:

my three kids have not shown so much enthusasim except where their rooms will be. :dancingqueen:

I have been looking at kitchen appliances : build-in ovens, gas hob, hood, induction cooker and even dishwasher. Hubby said i can have a dishwasher. imagine that. i told him about the pros of having a dishwaher and after a sales presentation from harvey norman sales person at milenia walk he was sold on the idea. :D

Went to two tile companies to see, touch and feel the tile and i was fasinated and inspired by the different look i can achieve with the tiles.

but being conservative, please to not expect to fall off the chair when i start to post photos of my finished job.

will be meeting up with a few contractors and IDs this coming week.

will keep updating the blog when i am free. :yamseng:

The collection of keys was very late. Expected to pick it up at 5pm but delayed till 8pm. Thank God our law firm co-ordinator was nice and considerate to call me not to come early but to await her call at home.

I even had time to take a short nap while waiting zz

We made a short visit to the new place to check it out. I had applied with pub to do the metre reading yesterday so i don.t have to be around to open the door for them today since previous owner terminated their account yesterday.

The previous owners clear out their stuff with not much stuff for us to clear with the exception of one unflushed toilet :o , yucks,

We are meeting with some contractors tomorrow :

1. A professional painter recommended by a personal friend

2. A contractor which is also recommended by a friend and she found him on Renotalk. I shall not reveal his identity yet and keep you in suspense

Another meet another two more contractors on coming Monday. Have not met any ID yet as we have an idea what we want our house to look like and are more hands on type of owners. The ID will likely to stiffer my creativity :P

I have to stop here and get some rest to recover from my flu. zz

The utility must have been cut while the owner was doing his business halfway. Lol.

Ain't you glad that pub had activated your water supply. Hahahaa

Yes it is.

I got sick after collecting my keys last Friday.

After meeting up with four contractors to brief them on the house. I am totally exhausted.

Don't know how Mr Minerat and other forumers keep up with their Reno work. It is very tiring.

An update,

Met Four contractors, still waiting for their quotations. Giving them one week to quote.

Have good impression of two parties so will have a tough choice to make.

Found out that we have some roofing issues so now we have a include scaffolding into the renovation.

Waterproofing will start after replacing the tiles. So since scaffolding is up we might as well paint the whole house.... :bangwall:

So what seems like some minor renovation will become a bigger project.

Now I am the main contractor :sport-smiley-003: just wait and see

What I did was, I created a powerpoint with details of what I want to do and where, with photos and floor plan attached.

So every contractor or id I will just email them the ppt and wait for their quotations. Save my energy :good:
