ladygeorgette 0 Report post Posted September 20, 2012 (edited) INITIAL ID IMPRESSIONSThe first draft of our ID drawings are up! There are quite a number of changes to make as it is not exactly the theme I want. Nevertheless, here it is.Living RoomMBRThe ID managed to plan space for a baby cot, a single mattress (for my #1 to sleep on at night), an open shelf behind the MBR door (for milk powder and bottles for night feeds) and my dressing table all within my MBR. Not bad! Kitchen (Wet)No open concept for me as I can't stand the smell of oil going to other parts of the house. ladygeorgette 0 Report post Posted September 21, 2012 (edited) any finalisation on your space planning and theme??i also too dont quite agree with your id idea. how about my layout? prob u can use it as a cross ref. Luciusteo, hee I probably didn't make myself clear. The space planning is according to my specifications My citeria:Kitchen - No open concept kitchen, no L-shaped dishwashing area, fully-cabineted as much as possible (hubby's territory)Living room - A minimum of 3m distance from TV to sofa (both hubby and I have perfect eyesight and gonna make our children follow that discipline), and the centre of the living room cannot be blocked with furnitures (for gatherings which we often have)Dining area - No eating and watching TV at the same time - my weird household rule. I guess that will change as the kids grow up but I am planning to cultivate that habit for now My ideal theme is a blend of wood and white as much as I can, but I can incorporate black (for eg. my sofa) because of practical reasons. Understand that our concepts are not typical of most Edited September 21, 2012 by ladygeorgette
ladygeorgette 0 Report post Posted September 25, 2012 (edited) Over the weekend, we bought our oven and washer in the matter of an hour! We went to Courts and Best Denki, but were turned off by the fact that most of their promotion items could only be held in warehouse for a month !! Disappointed, we went to Harvey Norman to be greeted by a salesman who assured us they can deliver up to 6 months later. Without hesitation, we bought from HN.Opted for a basic oven because I hardly bake, but still want an oven! Our 2nd washer - this one's for washing children's clothes only, because missus here is fussy Yesterday, I smsed our ID on short notice that we would like to get our bathroom accessories shopping done. She was so flexible to rearrange her schedule to bring us to the shop. Quite happy with her promptness in reacting. The damage came up to $3,000 but I wasn't allowed to take pictures. We bought our wash basins, taps, kitchen sink, wc and bathroom accessories in 1 & 1/2 hour, was that fast or slow? I was reeling over from the shock of the $3K bill, and aborted the idea of my Hansgrohe rainshower for a normal range one, but normal rainshowers don't come cheap too Nevertheless must appreciate hubby who allowed me to have rainshowers for both bathrooms Quoted $260 for 35L Joven storage heater Edited September 25, 2012 by ladygeorgette

ladygeorgette 0 Report post Posted September 25, 2012 why pics cant be taken i dont understand.Actually I only saw the "no photography" sign on the wall. Since I paid for the stuff I should just tell them I wanna take some pictures right? Silly me never think of it, just wanted to get it over and done with and rush home to see my boy.bathrm accessories cost 3K...no wonder she reshedule her appt...You have a point! But, 2 rainshower sets with mixer already add up to $700 plus, is $3K too expensive? We bought towel hanging bars, bidet sprays, toilet roll holders all in...I thought it was reasonable as we didn't go for the real expensive fixtures... ladygeorgette 0 Report post Posted October 9, 2012 Tiles SelectionWent for tiles selection at Lian Seng Hin and Hafary. We only need to choose the floor tile for our kitchen and wall tile for the washing area, and tiles for both bathrooms. For our kitchenFor our common bathroomThe hubby and ID advised against dark tiles for our MBR toilet, but yours truly the queen wanted her way, and got it We finally settled on the vinyl floor design - took a while as the supplier couldn't show us anything close; either the colour was off or the grain wasn't irregular enough. Hope the actual piece of plank won't disappoint when it all comes together.
