angrypapa 0 Report post Posted September 3, 2012 Hi Speed45,Not at all.The lock itself cost me around $880.Plus the new gate which cost me $400.Total damage beside my health (cos vommit blood) is $1280.I think the money can be better spend elsewhere.Despite my initial objective of going keyless, I am still carying keys incase the lock go nuts and I have to manually open.Sigh.... At least should demand half-half as they r the one who damaged the gate. Unless the lock cannot fit at the initial stage of installation then recommending to change a new gate will be more appropriate. I guess ur nightmare starts with a product that has serious issues plus inexperience boss n worker. I guess i will vomit blood too... Plan to save some money but end up spending more n worst, mentally stressed.I dont mean to gloat on ur misfortune but it seems ridiculous to bring keys out while using a keyless lock because u fear on getting locked out by ur own lock. Seriously, i think u will go nuts first...
RemyLebeau 0 Report post Posted September 3, 2012 If i'm you i will simply ask them pay half the damage of the door/gate. Change a new one and get a recommended brand instead. As time goes by like this eventually u'll get paranoid/crazy with the keyless thing bugging you all the time.
angrypapa 0 Report post Posted September 3, 2012 Hi RemyLebeau,I wish it can be that simple. But you see my main door and gate has been altered to fix the lock.So changing to a new lock may mean getting a new door and gate.Hi Speed45,The samsung lock came with the previous home (condo).Anyway my wife keep giving in and giving in to this company. Most of the time, I stayed out of it....If I am involved, I might end up whacking someone...I am going nuts already.....Sigh... angrypapa 0 Report post Posted November 30, 2012 After close to six month I am still facing issues with the lock. One day my wife came home and she couldn't unlock using her fingerprint. When I came home, I faced the same issue. My wife called the service guy and he replace the IC.So we have to reprogram the new IC with our finger print. My maid too. Then on a Monday my wofe called me and said my maid got locked out.I went home and checked and also couldn't unlock the door. The blue lights didn't turn on to allow scanning of my finger print.Left the emergency key with the maid and rushed back to work.Wife came home and say can work already.Asked me to try a few times.Seems to be an on and off thing.Wife again asked the service man to come down.He checked and said battery loose. We told him that this cannot be the case as we dont slam our door.seems my woes is never ending.sigh.... citygirl 1 Report post Posted January 29, 2013 Have you considered going to the small claims tribunal or suing them with the new lemon law? What they sold you was clearly a lemon, and I think you have the grounds to get them to give you a refund. Or worst case, a brand new digital lock. If I were in your position, I'd just want them to give me a new gate and door so that I can start afresh, with a Samsung digital lock! Good luck!
toonie 0 Report post Posted February 1, 2013 Sorry, I am going to ask a very stupid question: can you use digital lock on the front gate? I have seen them installed on the wooden door, but how do you install it on a gate? Does anyone have a picture to share? Thanks.

angrypapa 0 Report post Posted April 23, 2013 My ordeal is coming to an end. My 1 year warrantee period is almost up. Last saturday, the boss and his son came to service my lock. Apparently some electronics component is not working so sometimes the lock at the gate cannot be locked. My wife decided to change lock as after warantee period, per trip is chargable at $50.Such a waste of money...so expensive and only for 1 year.
