Summarize from the link for those applicable to our new place :

* Use a second tile choice to make a feature wall. But have to be careful about using small ledgestone tile, unless you know your water does not leave staining on your tile. Ledgestone achieves the stacked-rock look — like on this shower wall — with the rough face of the stone facing out. The rough surface means that it's slow to drain, and water with a heavy mineral content will build up quickly.

e.g.

--- Hope the ledgestone tiles we choose for our shower feature wall is not considered as small, afraid of maintenance issue.

* Keep cleaning in mind. If you hate cleaning your shower, use larger slabs or glass panels, since they making cleaning much easier than small mosaic-type tiles.

--- We are trying to get a larger slabs, but we still like those mosaic designs.

Cool to use non-smooth wall tiles for your shower feature wall. I guess many concern is on the cleaning part, if one is very conscious of sparking clean shower area, then he/she would have to go for smooth wall tiles which is easy to scrub and wipe.

The 2 common method:

1st one is one rough texture wall tiles forming a row at 1.2m above which water normally won't splay to that high,

2nd one would be a cute or artistic tiles to show on one side of wall.

You saw the newspaper or website that DBS CapitaCard Visa Platimum Credit Card is having promotion that Receive $10 CapitaVoucher for every $100 CapitaVoucher purchased?

One time can purchase $300 CapitaVoucher per person per mall. If go Bugis area, can go to Bugis junction and Bugis+ to buy purchase.

You maybe asking me why get this. If you buying bathroom accessories, WC, sink from Hoe Kee or other , aircon, or electrical appliances at IMM and that they accept CapitaVoucher, you would have save almost 10% of the total cost for purchase at IMM or other CapitaMall.

I went to Gain City (Air-Con) at IMM to buy Sys 3 inverter which cost 3300++ after paid initial deposit. By buying voucher of up to $3000, I would get a total of $3300, meaning a saving of $300.

Hi Janicelhl,

We got the fabric sofa and platform storage bed from a furniture shop called "Xclusive" which just located opposite to IMM Building, total price was around 5k.

Oh quite reasonable. Does that include the mattress?

Hi Janicelhl, the price included mattress .. Not sure if this was the promotion price as the manager told us that it was just launched on the day we went, so he tried to give us the good price. Actual price seems much higher than what we paid, good luck ~

Submitted permission for hacking but there are some problems on hacking of the walls at storeroom, tomorrow husband will go down to HDB hub to check with the officer ... might need to hire PE ~ hope everything will be fine.

Another 19 days more before reno start, still haven't shopped for toilet accessories, basin and WC etc. Also haven't finalized the tiles selection, contractor is asking us on this .. wonder if we need to decide asap in case the tiles are out of stock. I quite like the brick wall tiles for kitchen and bathroom but husband didn't like, sad sad .. :o

For the hacking of the wall, you need to find out if there is a beam above the wall, if have is good, meaning the wall can be hack. If don't have, that case need to check if the wall is of load bearing, if is of load bearing wall, HDB won't allow you to hack it. Engaging a PE will cost few hundred.

A look at your 1st page floor plan, the wall near to kitchen should be able to hack since there is a beam running along the wall.

Thanks 1000miles ... Yesterday husband took 1 day off to go down with contractor to check with HDB officer on the reason of reject the hacking permit, we just realized our contractor didn't indicate clearly. He was really not good on the paper work, so he duplicated some walls for hacking. We need to re-submit again and husband will need to take leave again .. sigh. So this is really the cons of hiring contractors especially those who was not so experienced on major reno. So, none of our wall hackings have been approved due to contractor mistakes.

Another thing that we learn is need to indicate some keywords such as "hack from underside of RC beam" for those storeroom walls in kitchen due to there is RC beam on top.

The first clue is there is a bigger than wall thickness running through or across. If still not convince, see the ground floor ceiling, there would have clearer pic.
