Fulfilling 5 Years Liability And Applying Bto Concurrently

Hi Everyone,

I took a grant from the govt a few years ago and is in the midst of serving my 5 years of grant liability.

I am wondering if i am able to apply for a new BTO flat even if i am in the midst of serving my liability period.

Reason is that new BTO takes time and i want to downgrade.

Any advice is appreciated. Thanks

HI, do read thru MOP guidelines in hdb website.

You can apply for BTO while serving your MOP. The condition is that you have complete the MOP before collecting keys for your BTO. As you will still need to wait few years before the BTO is ready.

this is what written in HDB website:

Existing Owner or Ex-Owner of a Flat

You can apply for a flat if you, your spouse or any of the essential occupiers listed in the application is an existing owner or ex-owner of a:

Flat bought directly from HDB; or

DBSS flat from the developers; or

Resale flat bought under the CPF Housing Grant Scheme

This is on condition that a 5-year period (excluding any period of subletting of the whole flat) has lapsed from the date of taking possession of the flat to the date of application for a flat.

yup, therat is correct. that is what i copy and paste from hdb website: date of taking possession of the flat to the date of application for a flat.
