Maybe you can consider scanpan knife block. Now sqft selling at $59. I'm so tempted to buy one, anyway I bought 1 for my friend as Christmas gift.

thx 4 the suggestion, i actually want to put the knives into my drawers as i dun cook so often so dun want them to collect dust i will go and check taka and c if they hv that. i think i will also make a visit to tangs to view their joseph joseph range and c if i can actually see a sample of the worktop saver b4 i order.

amazon does not ship some knives/ knife related items to Singapore....anyway, looking forward to your purchases...it's sometimes cheaper ordering from overseas...sometimes.

Hmm, I saw a whole bunch of them today at Tangs Orchard, including the striped one. The mini mosaic one that I like is not available here so I'm considering to ship it with my other purchases as well - additional USD8 for it so my total shipment cost is about 35% of my total purchase price.

Roughly, the worktop will cost about SGD49 vs Tangs selling it around SGD59...

Caesarstone is quartz, among quartz there are a few reputable brands like Caesartsone, Silestone, iquartz etc. They have more colors compare to granite. I don't know the price for granite because never thought of using it, but I think granite is still stronger.

To add on what MrsLoo shared, granite is cheaper compared to quartz. Caesarstone and Silestone are more renowned brands whereas Iquartz is from Malaysia (if i remember correctly), so cheaper compared to the former two brands. In terms of strength, i think quartz is the strongest. For these materials, there will usually be joining lines on the countertop. If you prefer a seamless look, can consider solid surface instead. Got reputable brands like Samsung and LG. HTH
