Laminate Floor **** Rm Or Homogeneous Tile?

It seems the laminate floor is quite cheaper than tiles.

ie...it is about 3-4S$ per sqft to lay the laminate floor ...

but much more expensive to lay the tiles in the living rm , sometimes with extra cost to hack the existing tiles...

what do you think, would you like to choose laminate floor in the living rm? or would you still prefer tiles although it's expensive?
