VictorTqt 0 Report post Posted June 18, 2012 Hi all,We are going to buy some furniture for our new house. We have managed to choose the sofa set, but we have the option to choose between high density foam or pocketed spring type. We are a bit confusing since the salesperson said that high density foam sofa is softer and more comfortable, but pocketed spring one is more stable and keep the shape of sofa better. Therefore we are seeking experiences and recommendations from users here.Thank you very much.Victor

eng81157 0 Report post Posted June 19, 2012 depending which sales person you talk to, the outcome varies.as a disclaimer, i'm a novice when it comes to furnishing matters and my experience is based on my gatherings over the past 3 days at the furniture expo fair.company A, selling high density foam sofas, claimed that pocketed springs are not good, since springs will lose their shape after a long period of use.company B, selling pocketed spring sofas, claimed that high density foam will lose their shape after a long period of use.In the end, my wife and I bought a goose feathered sofa

Pocket springs are good for mattresses where the weight is spread out. Then again, everything depends on who you are buying from.
VictorTqt 0 Report post Posted June 19, 2012 Thank you SamTheMan and eng81157 very much for sharing your experience. Actually the company selling that sofa allowed me to choose pocketed spring or high density foam for the model I chose (the design), I think they have factory to do that. The salesperson also told me that pocketed spring is more stable but a bit harder compare to high foam density, however he said the decision depends on me. Actually I saw many luxury sofa model in Courts and saw that they somehow like the mixing between coil spring and high density foam. Therefore that is the reason why I posted my question here. Thank you very much a gain.
