Old Home, New Look

Recommended Posts

Thanks for the info.

Wow, that's huge for a 5 room flat. Almost as big as the last batch of exec apt (144 sqm).

No problem. I think it's the correct info. :P My dad can't rmb how big is the recess area only the house itself when i asked him. When with my brother to take a look at those EC and HBD and realised that it's really SMALL!!! If everything permits, I don't see the point of selling this house since we spent a bomb on renovation as well. Just hope that the government don't be funny and tell us that they want to do something with that piece of land.

Oh, I meant that I could see it from the house that is currently under renovation. Hahaha. Whole mbr into glass wall, doubt my brother will be so daring.

Thanks. Checked with my parents, the house itself is 128, together with the recess area should be about 140 (plus/minus). From what I know most of our neighbors below bought the recess area as well.

The MBR door should be opening outwards, parents will be staying in the middle bedroom. Didn't think of such potential problem, hope they wouldn't knock into it. Hahahaha. Hope the appliances we bought are good to last. Everything's so expensive now.

Wah! Ur hse is so gigantic! Lol..

If my parents owned this kinda 5rm I wun make em sell too bah.. Itz hard to find such big units plus no odd shapes.. Houses these days are horrendous.. All sorts of odd shapes.. But then.. Point blocks these days r costly.. E $ is tempting too.. Lol

Hahahaha. It's really tempting. We have been offered a number of times and not kidding. We were once shaken.(if that offer was real and they were not kidding). Even the current neighbour who came to see our house recently said that they actually wanted our unit cause of the view. Hahaha.

Not only houses there days have odd shapes, sometimes it's like waste of space. They decided to use it to make a super big service yard when they should have given those space to make the bedrooms bigger. Think we were really lucky. Heard from my parents that they had to ballot for the units in the past. While my grandmother hopes for low level unit, my brothers hope for high. Of course, their wishes came through.

yup, from that block, sure able to see my side... but not sure can see my block or not. hehehehe... really really good view and also still walkable to mrt for you!

I agreed also, the new flats designs not so rectangular so a bit more difficult to design. don't think govt will take it back so soon. no worries. :yamseng:

It's about 5 mins walk to the MRT station i guess. As compared to boon keng, still further and the fact that there is only one stupid bus service!

My friend took the new flats at boon keng, cityview or something. It was so small. Either with bigger space but weird layout or weird layout with smaller space. Flats now...

Those flats at boon keng are madly priced! Location wise is good but it's not like the unit is that big to worth that much. If we really sell it, $700k is not a bad price considering how much my parents actually paid for 30 years ago. :D Cost of flat 30 years ago < Renovation cost today
