astralprue 0 Report post Posted June 13, 2012 (edited) Got my keys in early April, and only started shopping for IDs then. But pretty quickly settled on my ID Don and got down to business on planning and applied for screeding for my bedrooms. Started at the end of April.Since budget was a constraint, only kitchen cabinets, a wardrobe and another cabinet for toys was custom made, in addition to a bay window storage. Main bedroom and the adjoining room were combined. Living room and a spare room was not touched. We decided not to go with a set theme since it is going to be limiting. But we did try to make sure colours do not clash, cos we'd have to live with the eye sore for a long time haha.As of this moment (june) furniture has not been bought/decided. Have some ideas in mind but still shopping around. Here is a copy of the floorplan:This is what my kitchen will look like:Wardrobe:Doll cabinet. I like that I got drawings instead of 3D renderings. These are all hand drawn: Edited June 13, 2012 by astralprue

astralprue 0 Report post Posted June 13, 2012 (edited) This week carpentry has commenced. Was pleasantly surprised to see my kitchen almost completed. Kitchen is supposed to represent the beach (kitchen floor tiles) and the sky (blue glass top cabinets). The corner casement doors are not up yet I think because have to install 180 degree hinges. I was anal about being able to access the corners of the cabinet because I do not want to waste any space and yet I want easy access. Flirted with the idea of having a single double hinged door (oxymoron huh?), lazy susan racks and a built in drawer in the corner but finally settled on the hinged door.Rounded corner for kitchen cabinet which I insisted on hahaWardrobe in progress Bay windowSliding door to the two merged rooms. Designed to throw off and confuse lol Edited June 13, 2012 by astralprue
