Journey Of My Minaret Walk

Recommended Posts

Just my thought.

A typical landed refurbishment that, unfortunately, represented a missed opportunity for creativity.

An expensive house that looks rather ordinary refurbished but there are HDB renovations in this forum that inspired. It is the amount of thinking, styling that really makes the different in the result.

Cheers!

I dont agree with what you said... Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder... As long the ppl staying there likes it n feels comfortable, theres no need to renovate until like a grand palace... Renovation has to be practical, looks good but difficult to use or to maintain is another problem...

Cheers

I don't think there is a right or wrong as far as design, styling or beauty is concerned. We knew what we wanted our house to look like and we set about achieving it. I need a house esthetically pleasing but more importantly functional and comfortable. I dun need a showflat or quirky designs that probably only designers can appreciate.

All the protection and debris have been cleared today. Tomorrow the cleaning will begin before carpentry can start.

Day 35 (13 Sep 2012)

Washing, washing and washing. Even my ID got into the fun, helping me to wash my rubbish bins :P Must have been a pretty weird request for him. :sport-smiley-004:

Finally...I can SMELL the end! :dancingqueen:

Day 36 (14 Sep 2012)

Carpenters were in today! So far, I must really take my hats off to my ID for the scheduling of the work. Everything just happens so seamlessly. Not a day is wasted.

I didn't rewire the whole house, mainly first floor, mbr and the toilets. But we did remove and change all the lights. Cost is about 4k. The wiring was done as soon as hacking completed. we just took a bit longer to confirm the lighting plan that ID gave us :P

Day 37 (15 Sep 2012)

Carpentry continued today but nothing much could be done as there's lots of drillings involved, which they didn't want to do for fear that the noise will disturb the neighbours. The rest of my stuff including my lights and bathroom accessories were all delivered today. All set for the last burst of fire :notti:

Did you redo your aircon piping? I am currently staying in a inter terrace and i was thinking about changing it.

I know it will be a rather big job but i am wondering how can we check the condition? it is 15 years old

By the way, will you be able to send me all your quote? I am thinking of renovating my house. I pm you my email address
