Journey Of My Minaret Walk

Recommended Posts

Day 10 (14 Aug)

Not much happening today. Tiling continues. Level 1 toilet tiling looks complete already. Aircon guys also came and fixed up the pipings.

Another waterproofing contractor came down to do his assessment. This one was recommended by a fellow forummer.

We went to look at Amasco LED downlights in the evening. They seem to be selling at quite a reasonable price. Anyone has any feedback on those?

Hi Minerat

my roof also can see yellow colour patches but i think there might be more areas that i have not found out. i have not started my renovation yet. only when i remove the false ceiling in toilets then will i know my roof condition. hope i dont have to go through four contractors and be stuck in a dillema.

i prayed God will provide the right contractors to renovate and house. may you commit this to the Lord our provider.

Have you found your contractor or id already?

My contractor also told me if use not so good tiles, the surface will be rough and therefore will trap dirty or algae forming. Therefore, he recommended me to use the "German' tiles, glossy shiny type for better rain flow and can last longer.

Day 11 (15 Aug 2012)

Tiling for the second and third floor toilets started today. They have also ripped out the window that I wanted to shift out. Now I must say that I was pretty unhappy with my ID over this. When they apps me the picture, I'd reminded them to cover up the hole. They assured me that it was done. But when I checked later at night, the hole where the window used to be, wasn't covered at all! If it rains, my parquet and wardrobe will be gone. Apps my ID and he said he overlooked that. He said he will get the worker to cover up tomorrow and I'd reminded him to pray for no rain tonight. Otherwise I will be getting new parquet and wardrobe for free. Hahahaa...

If you need an ID, i can recommend you mine. I am quite happy with them so far other than the occasional forgetfulness.

My IDs probably didn't think I'd visit the site since it's so late already.

Dudes, if you are reading this, I'd like to let you know that I visit the site everyday, no matter how late. And I keep a torch in my car for this purpose. I supposed tough luck you had me for a client :P

Day 12 (16 Aug 2012)

Lots of things happening today. The pest control guys came and injected the termite treatments. Finally tiling for floor can start already. False ceiling guys also came and started working on the living area. The window extension project also went ahead with the tiler plastering and smoothing that area. Meanwhile tiling continues.

I must confirm the waterproofing contractor fast. Was raining this afternoon and my 3rd floor toilet looked like a waterfall. Hahah

Project window extension. Now I know why developers like to use bay windows to give you a false illusion of a bigger room. The room does indeed feels bigger! Hahahha

Awning? If yoy referring to the last pic, that's my skylight in the toilet. Hahahaa. The pipe pointing down is supposed to be for the rain shower head. Thereafter false ceiling will conceal the sides, leaving only the centre piece of clear glass above my head as I shower. No peeping please. Hahahaa

opps i forgotten about your skylight which you mention you are keeping.

may i should try to find a place to build a skylight but my neighbours sure can see into my toilets, so no skylight in toilets for me.

Day 13 (17 Aug 2012)

Looks like a screw up between ID and ceiling contractor. In the living room, we were supposed to have cove lights which point inwards towards I ceiling fan. But the result is now like this, ie cove lights pointing outwards... :furious::jawdrop:

Before I ask them to tear down and redo, I need some opinion...is this better or inner cove better? I somehow seems to find that the "wrong" one may be better...Hahaha...maybe the workers' hands were guided by God.
