Journey Of My Minaret Walk

Recommended Posts

I have been on a quest to find out the Chinese name of my street name, ie Minaret Walk. So far has hit a blank. If anyone knows, please do let me know.

Looking for good contractors? Click here for your request

Did you redo your aircon piping? I am currently staying in a inter terrace and i was thinking about changing it.

I know it will be a rather big job but i am wondering how can we check the condition? it is 15 years old

By the way, will you be able to send me all your quote? I am thinking of renovating my house. I pm you my email address

Only redid the pipings for mbr as I also added another split unit there for my study room. So might as well change the pipings. For the rest of the house the aircon contractor tested them and advise me no change required.

I have a question. The gap between my toilet cabinet and the wc is only 10cm. Is that normal? I kind of feel that it may be too small. I will feel claustrophobic when sitting on my throne :P

Good to know the piping are still ok. All my aircon external unit are placed in the same location if i need to replace all my piping , it means tearing down everything..sigh

This is the mbr tv console cum storage. Actually this was created as an after thought as we really didn't want to have a tv in the room.

Hi Minerat. Typically the width for wc is about 700 to 800. With a bowl width of say 360 u should have gap of about 170. 100mm is a bit small.

You think there's gonna be a problem? I never really thought about this as the tv in my previous house was also directly under the aircon.

Minerat .... I would second that opinion. I had two aircons leak (incidentally both Daikin), one above a wardrobe and another above the TV. Its very risk to have it on top of the TV as theres little warning before it starts dripping (gushing). Either that or a plate below the unit leading any potential water away.

Day 39 (18 Sep)

Amasco totally pissed me off today! When we first ordered our lights from them, we were told they have run out of T5, but they guaranteed me that the lights will be in by last Friday. I'd already told them the urgency and that I can wait for them if it's Friday. When I sms them last Thursday to check on the status, they replied it will be in only next wed (which is tomorrow). They were so nonchalant I can't believe it! They knew it's delayed but yet can't be bothered to update me, knowing that my request is urgent!

Then they promised me that the lights will be delivered definitely by next Wednesday. So this morning, I called and asked. They said no idea, will check and call me back in 1/2 hour. Guess what, not only No calls back, but subsequently all my calls the person will tell me the boss was engaged on the phone! When my wife called in the evening, miraculously the boss is not engaged on the phone anymore! But she sold my wife the same duck, that the lights are in Singapore already but she doesn't know where so she will check and revert in 1/2 hours. No sound, no picture since. I sms her to cancel my order straightaway!

So now I have to scramble to buy my T5 from places that have stock for me by tomorrow! Really exasperating!

My previous aircon leaks too (after many years), and throughout that period, servicing was quite cumbersome and difficult if there are things below the fan coil unit, eg bed, wardrobe or piano etc. So for my new design, there will be nothing below the aircon.
